Great vehicle
In three years we've put on 80,000 miles on our V-8 model. No problems. The sound system sucks, however, in the SR5. We love the acceleration, especially since we have to drive 2 lane roads on a heavily travels hiway, which makes for easy passing. And we know the stability control works great, as we are often on icy roads! We love this car.

4-runner CRASH
I recently lost my 2004 beloved 4-runner in a crash and it was totaled...I cannot say enough good things about this vehicle that I owned for 6 years. It was an SR5 2 wheel drive, V6 and it served me exceptionally well....We never had any problems whatsoever with this truck. I planned on keeping it until it fell apart, however things turned out somewhat different. It had a smooth ride, great power, smooth transmission, GREAT Handling as I had to make very sharp swerves several times and it never even came close to tipping and rolling.....This vehicle was everything that we needed. It was a great grocery getter, dog hauler as I have 2 large dogs I have to take to the Vet....Just put them in the back and they were comfortable. We also went on vacation across country many times, and my teenager had plenty of room in the backseat. The ONLY item that I disliked on this truck was the AC/Heat knob.....It had so many settings, you got confused with it. I hated that....Other than that, this was a sweet all around multi-purpose vehicle that I will sorely miss....Plan on buying another one as soon as I locate a Certified, one owner one in my area that is similar to my other. I have no hesitation about buying another 4-runner. I would recommend these vehicles to anybody.....One other point that I might make is with 82,000 miles on this vehicle at the time of the crash, there was not one rattle in that truck. No dash noise, no bumpy noise when you hit pot holes, nothing. It was as solid as they come. Also had great gas mileage....averaged around 20-22 mpg city and highway. Adios my beloved truck :((((

Dependable, uncomfortable on road trips
I've had an '07 Limited 4Runner for nearly 3 years and have not had any mechanical problems. However, I am tall, and find the driver seat does not go back far enough, and the seat is uncomfortable after ~1hr of driving. I'll be looking for a change when my lease runs out.

Its one of the best cars on the market. we made our decision after test driving this in comparison with the Nissan Pathfinder, Lexus and Suburu. It got great reviews from Consumer Reports.

watch out for rust!!
I have owned the '07 SR5 for two years now. Had to have the back painted twice due to rust that occurs due to pinching of the Toyota Logo crome molding with the car paint. It is a factory problem says the dealer that occurs with the SR5. The car was only 6 mo.'s old when the first rust appeared. Had the dealer paint it, which lasted another 6 mo.'s. I bought a new vehicle not to have rust problems like this. Lexus and GM dealer told me the rust will never stop, Toyota dealer tells me otherwise. So far they are wrong and we will see if the third time is a charm. I think they are just trying to ride out the warranty. Beware the SR5, dealer said they have had several of these kinds of problems with it. Otherwise, the 4Runner is great! Would recommend it!

3rd 4Runner V6 4x4
This is my 3rd 4Runner. I love the Toyota product but they missed the mark on the interior design. There is there is only one (1) 12V outlet in the front. I run a radar detector and cell phone and have to use an adapter. There needs to be one in the back seat to assist with the kids' stuff (DVD Player / Hand held video games) The buttons to control the heat & AC are terrible! You have to take your eyes off the road to make a temp change or fan speed change. The controls for the windows are too low on the door - I prefer the earlier design. Cup holders in the rear doors are a waste. The only thing they can hold is a bottled water. Any more than that is a mess in the making. I will continue to purchase Toyota's based on their reliability, performance and value. I wish they would step-up on the interior design.

3rd 4 runner
Still a great truck. I would have expected a few more 12v outlets since most kids like dvd's in the back seat for road trips. I feel like the quality is not as good as my last two. Problem w/ rust on tail gate where the license plate is fastened w/ chrome strip. Over all very nice, good gas milage for an suv. I wish they could make the back cargo area deeper for 3rd row seat. Love toyotas, still have my 96 landcruiser w/ 162K

Very impressed
I have been looking for a great suv with comfort, reliability, class and performance. I was considering a bmw x5 4.6i which i test drove and liked very much. I also drove an 07' Tahoe LTZ which was great with every option available. As soon as a got behind the wheel of this beast I was blown away immediately by its luxury and class. It just felt like a more solid, quality built machine than any of the high end suv's i've driven. I ended up buying an 06' 4runner limited 4wd with a v8. The runner's all time 4wd and suspension is second to none! Worth every penny!
