From a budget standpoint of its one of the greatest automotive feats in the last 20 years. A reliable, cheap, beautiful, fear wheel drive sports car that ìs better than a Mazda Miata! Toyota clearly took aim at this car or the driving philosophy behind it. It's alot more comfortable than a Miata! More horsepower! Looks amazing even at a standstill! Plus with a few minor tweaks (header, intake and open flash tablet tune) you can iron out its flaws! Or you you can go hogwild crazy and slap a turbo or supercharger for insane amounts of power! Frankly, I would do rather do the former than the latter, just for longevity reasons (and to keep my warranty). Plus I love the trademark Subaru "rumble"! Aside from the power the infotainment system is laggy at times. Would recommend a slightly used specimen, under warranty and dealer certified no older than 2 years. Lastly there isn't ANY excuse to buy this in automatic (except health reasons), the clutch is like butter and Toyota/Subaru make almost perfect manual gearboxes. Subaru has had some issues with their automatics. So do yourself a favor avoid automatic transmissions for this particular model! If you're on the fence about it because you've got kids, buy this car and convince your significant other to keep the family car, once they're in the driver's seat of this "smart mans" Japanese Porsche they'll get it! My only 2 reasons for not buying this car would be if I could only have access to one car and lived in a snowy area I'd just get a Subaru Sti and if your over 6'2" you're going to be a bit cramped.

I love the Toyota reliability and the fun, fun, fun handling and response. GREAT vehicle for car lovers!!! The boxer 2.0 developed with FUJI heavy industries just plain works.

I recently experience uncontrollable acceleration in my 86. Braking did not help to decelerate engine. I drove off road, pressing hard on the brake, rear wheels spinning in the dirt. I was able to put car in park and shut off engine. I called Toyota dealership, the car as towed to service department. I was told it was a floor mat pressing on the gas pedal, not so. Too may questions and not enough answers. Beware!

The most fun I?ve had with my pants on! It?s like a high powered go cart and I think it?s perfect for the urban environment!!! The only reason I gave 4 stars for performance is this car could use at least another 50 hp! I don?t think it needs more because the 205 hp I have now is still peppy!

Comfortable. Easy to customize. Excellent driving car. Love it. Good gas mileage, good space in the trunk. Love my color and the shine it takes.

Very good sports car for the price. Owned it for a few months and already put over 3k miles on it. Really enjoy the overall driving dynamics, some may want more power but for the price the performance is really on par with expectations. It handles extremely well and is comfortable enough to daily drive. Will need winter tires for sure though.

This is the least expensive sports car I have ever owned. It has some great lines and the handling is superb. The interior is comfortable but not plush. I would have preferred an interior upgrade if any were available. However..... we are a Toyota family and I was very confident that this vehicle as a hybrid between Toyota design and Subaru manufacturing will continue to have the outstanding reliability I have experienced with all of our Toyotas. We own a Tacoma, RAV4 and Highlander as well. We bought the 86 for road trips and fun, and it is exceptional at both. With the factory boxer engine, the 2L 4-cylinder produces a respectable 200HP with no after-factory upgrades. It is quick and handles really well....but I wish it had a bit more muscle. After-factory turbos and superchargers are available, but I have no interest min doing another $5K in upgrades. Overall, great car for the person who wants sporty and fun. Soccer Mom's should stick with the mini-van, however, as space in this vehicle is a premium.

Beautiful red color i bought. very comfortable and smooth. turning and cruising is the best with this car. Manual is more powerful but i bought automatic because i'm used to it more.

This car is great. Off of the show room I took it to Laguna Seca raceway in Monterrey Ca. It was amazing what this sports car was able to do. I was passing Porsche's and BMW's This car has incredible balance in turns and hugs the track If you are a sports car enthusiast you need to test drive this car.I am a completely satisfied customer.Next run ThunderHill raceway Ca.
