2001 Toyota Corolla consumer reviews

I have a 2001 S 5 speed manual.. I am burning oil about 2 quarts every 3 k miles. I also had to replace the catalytic converter around 100 K miles. I have been told by the dealer that the engines for this model year tend to burn oil at high mileage. I would caution if you were to buy a used one you check the oil usage. My research indicates that it should not use oil.

Very reliable with no type of mechanical difficulties with the exception of normal wear and tear. The car handles very well. It is very comfortable on long trips. Average about 28 to 32 miles per gallon.

This is a good deal. The car has all the features you need in a dependable transportration. Most of the milage is high way milage. It is in great shape. I had no trouble with it. It is well kept.It is well maintained. All the maintenance work was done on time by the prefofessionals.

Good value, reliability and styling, in a neat and inexpensive package. Cheap to run (gas) and to maintain. Slightly boring but decent performance. Long on reliability, but "tinny" next to the european models, as are all Asian cars. But, unlike American makes, they are VERY reliable. If saving money is your gig, this should be your vehicle!
