Safe, Solid, Reliable

It's so great to have a vehicle that you know has a lot of life left in it with solid brakes and gas. The color is also lovely. You just feel safe in this car and know it's been well taken care of. The only reduction of the star in Value for Money was that it was in one accident in the past and, given comparative ratings, I think it should have been a bit less. However, overall it is the best car we could ask for.

New-178,000 miles. THIS CAR CAN'T BREAK

My mom bought this car new in 2005 and it became mine in 2016 with 116k miles. My mom never maintained the car 10k mile oil changes tires always bald no maintenance accept for oil changes always late. I replaced the spark plugs and wires at 110k the battery terminals rusted out at 94k miles $5 5 minute fix timing belt changed at 172k. We put this car through xxxx drive it roughly (mobbing through dirt roads) just abused the xxxx out of it but nothing ever broke. Great gas mileage. I don't understand how this car stood up to me and my mom's abuse. THIS CAR CAN'T BREAK. Except cosmetics. The car looks like how it was treated. I gave it to my cousin because she's broke af and I bought a new car anyway. My cousin still has it. 184k miles now and still pushing.

Great little car for the price.

Gas mileage about 30. Good acceleration. Mechanically sound. Prior owner smoked but bought for a smoker. Rear brakes needed new pads. hope to get about 300,000 mile out of this car.

My favorite Corolla of all time

Dependable family car, has served us well for many years. This is 2019 and it runs like new, and even better than the newer models.

Favorite car of all time

I bought it used in May 2016, because of the well known reputation for reliability. I lost many thousands of dollars on cars that were either lemons or always in the shop. I had had enough! I managed to get the last one available in my area. But, I certainly didn't buy it for the leg room, as I jokingly tell others. After all, I AM 6 ft. 3 in. I bought it with 94K on the odometer, now up to 137K. The dealer recommended throttle body service, so I got that.Had only one brake job so far, and the other usual maintenance jobs, but recently was advised to replace the transmission cooler lines. Was shown the old part, even that was still largely as black as the day it was built, just leaky from age. (No one's perfect.) I have a lot of faith in this car, and I need for it to last me a long time, so I am encouraged by what I am reading in the reviews. I treat it well, I don't run it too hard, and it's been good to me. I hope I can keep it going for a long, long time. It's the smartest purchase I ever made, and I am nearly 60 years old. Do not hesitate to buy one.

Great daily driver and first time car owners

I have drove many compact sedans like Civic, Sonta, Cruise, etc and by far the Toyota Corolla has by far been the best. It has a sunroof very fuel efficient and very low maintenance car.

A Very Reliable Car

This is the best car I have ever had. I usually buy a new car every five years. I have always wanted a Toyota Corolla. So, I bought my 2006 Toyota used March 2009. It had 33,000 miles on it. It has been my Best Buy yet. I had to change the Serpentine belt shortly after I bought it, because it was squeaking. Six years later, I changed it for safety sake. Other than that, I have had my back brakes adjusted, oil and air filters changed, windshield wipers, and one set of tires. I am so glad I decided to buy a used car. It has served me well, and it is still going strong. And, it looks good.

Ugly miracle

I bought it new in 2006 and now in 2018 have had no enexpected issues. 189k miles and still has years of life. Despite how ghastly hideous it is, you see them everywhere because their owners love their personalities. I recommend this car over any other car. Spacious, safe, durable, predictable, reliable. What I don?t like (but would deal with a million times anyway): interior fabric abraids easily, power windows will keep trying (to the point of breaking... mine did) to open if windows are frozen, some trims have a very ugly plastic fake wood inside which is considered an upgrade but actually is tacky. Other than that, please buy a Corolla if you can afford it. It might be hard at first to adjust to how uncool you look, but I literally love and have a relationship with mine that stems from its consistent miraculous dependability and performance. Exceeds all expectations aside from style.

Great car for the low price. New tires breaks and belts. I feel like my son is safe as he just turned 16 5 months ago.

XRS is a lovely sleeper

I bought the car for $4400 with 140, 000 miles on 9/2017 and now has 172,000. It was well maintained with Carfax record stating it was dealer maintained. Now his car is driven about 800 miles during the week and autocrossed every month. I like this car because it is supremely reliable, cheap to keep and drives well. Well enough to be competitive in autocross and is very fun to drive. The 2zz engine is a lot more powerful than the base Corlla 1zz engine and transforms the car into a playful sedan once passed the 6200 rpm 'lift". Dynamically, the chassis is stiff and isolates alot of road chatter like no car I've owned (think baby lexus) and it handles really well probably because of its light weight of 2650 lbs or so. On my work days I will drive 350 miles daily making 10 stops along the way without a problem, all said averaging 33 mpgs. I redline the motor atleast 5 times every day and change the synthetic oil every 8k. The only downside is that it requires high test fuel to get the most out of the Yamaha engine. My favourite thing about this car is the the engine because it revs to 8250 rpm and it is a rewarding car to drive. It is also invisible to law enforcement so driving quickly (in a safe environment) is always an available opportunity. Even in my 40's I still enjoy driving as much as when I was 16 and yes, still doing J turns with the handbrake in big grassy fields. It is spacious and comfortable enough for 3 adults and a child for a 4000 mile roadtrip averaging 34 mpg with not a hiccup or complaint, the car just goes. So there's my Driver's driver review, now go enjoy your Toyota.
