Steve Denson is our "go to guy"

This is the 2nd Corolla I have leased and by far the best customer service I have experienced. Steven Denson is an honest, no frills sales person with great people skills! My mom made 1 call to him telling him what I was looking for, monthly payment price I needed, down payment I had and he made it happen. I am an active Marine stationed in San Diego and could have easily went to my local Toyota dealership but nope, I drove all the way from Mir Mar Airforce Base to see Steve. Steve and presented TRUELY EXCEPTIONAL service from start to finish! David Gonzales in Finance processed my lease paperwork and I was finished in record time! My car was cleaned, prepped and ready to roll within 2 hours during this time I even had a chance to stop in see my Service Advisor Sam Quintanilla letting him know of my new lease & I will be back in a few months for my 1st service. Thanks guys for making this happen so easily. It allowed me to enjoy more family time than I anticipated during my weekend trip back home!! The question below asks if I would recommend this car yes I would BUT even more so I would I recommend Steven Denson, David Gonzales & Sam Quintanilla. With these 3 guys you can't go wrong! Thanks guys for your exceptional service and referrals are coming your way......

2017 Toyota Corolla SE

I purchased this car from Toyota of Tampa Bay on 16 September 2017 and am very pleased with it in all respects. It handles like a much heavier car with a very smooth and quiet ride. There is ample horsepower for driving both around town and on the open highway. It has some very nice safety features and is economical to drive. It has excellent styling both inside and out.

Best bang for the buck

Toyota has kept the interior design very simple and minimalist however very functional. Everything is located where you need it and the buttons are big enough to operate with gloves one. There is plenty of room for 5 people, 4 if they are over 6 feet tall. There is plenty of room in the trunk for 2 full size luggage and the car gives 35-40mpg on the highway comfortably if the speed is maintained. The electronics are easy to use and connectivity to phone/iPod is straight forward using Bluetooth or USB. Call quality is good and the stereo is surprisingly nice to hear even in the base model. On the exterior, the looks may look bland but nonetheless, you are buying a $20000 car to keep for 10 years and put over 100000 miles so this look will be good as new 10 years down the road as well (if you are thinking to buy a Corolla to keep for 2 years, you should be questioning your choice immediately). The suspension is firm but soft - excellent daily driver. People always complain about lack of response from steering wheel, I tend to agree however this car should be used like a proper daily driver/beater from day one, keep your foot hard down on the gas and turn the wheel to the direction you want to go - the car will go and you will have good fun that way, trust me. I thought the CVT was going to be dull but it wasn't! I drive stick shift everyday and that's what I would prefer but this CVT was no slouch, it's definitely not like an automatic tranny however the more you punch it, the happier the engine is to rev (given the loud engine) but again like mentioned before, put the foot down on gas and keep it going. Overall, the Corolla is a really good car, not just a starter car but a good car period. You can choose to be a minimalist and get a Corolla for use during the week and get a V8 swapped Miata for the track during the weekend or spend a lot more money to get 1 car to do both with compromises.

Meets my expectations

This car is just what I expected. It is very similar to my previous leased Honda civic but better. The lane directional warning feature is a big reason I purchased this vehicle. Additionally, it has a higher feeling while driving. I just feel owning it is a great value.
