Everyon should know there is a body structure issu
I am letting the world know that there is a body skin structure issue with the fj.... The inner fenders are cracking ..... Toyota is not responding quickly with a recall or customer notice which is dissappointing leading to this review... I am impressed with its off road capaibilities... and it is fun to get into and drive ....has visibility issues and i wouldnt recommend it to families... and toyota is pushing its luck with this one hopefully they wont leave their loyal customers in the lurch...

GREAT SUV!
I purchased my FJ 3 months ago and love it. The 4.0 V6 and automatic transmission are smooth and move the FJ effortlessly. The 3-arm windshield wipers cover the entire windshield. I especially like the 4-wheel, ventilated brakes. The lockup rear end works fine and will be useful this winter getting out of my steep driveway. (No shoveling the driveway!) I get a consistent 20-21 mpg on the highway with the AC on. The 4 wheel drive system is easy to use and with the increased ride height, should not have to worry about getting stuck in the snow. I have put over 6K on it and have had no problems. Glad I bought it.

Love my FJ but Does it Love Me?
I bought my FJ May 15th and it went in to be services 32 days later. Toyota service told me my rear shocks had leaked fluid and needed to be replaced. The FJ is still in the shop after 7 days. I wonder if I'm the only one?

performance is perfect
i bought the car for 35500 and it was a 6 month ago ! It was wonderful and great to drive on the highway and offroad ! the only problem i had with this car is to go in to the back seat ! No much space in the back and the doors for the back are too small ! there is no much feature inside like sunroof , leather , automatic front seats and heated seats ! i think also they should add digital dual climate control ! heated side mirrors.

Forget Jeep and Hummer go with the FJ
By far the best SUV out there!!!!!! First thing is that it is a Toyota need I say more.Second it took me about two and a half months to do research for the best SUV on the market and countless hours of test drives any where from a Jeep to Hummer and everything in between. The FJ is the best inside and out from the ground up. The water proof seats are a must if you like the outdoors. The cargo area is built to be punished. Handling on and off road is unbeatin and superior to all other SUV's. If you expecting a child like I am no worries there either, the back seat is perfect for the safety seat and it is easy to get in and out of the back seat with the half doors. The safety rating is excellent. This was the deciding factor for me because of the baby that is on the way.Gas milage is not that bad it could be a little better but it is not as bad as the other SUV's out there. One final note if you are looking for a SUV that is capable to do anything you can throw at it and not take you broke and your insurence may down mine did then look no further the TOYOTA FJ CRUISER should be your next SUV. Good job Toyota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update on my Dauntless FJ
Hello from Colorado, as you may have heard, the Denver area has been experiencing recent unprecedented and considerable weekly snow blizzards. My decision to buy the new F J has been validated time and time again this winter, in plowing through nasty snowdrifts and other nasty unexpected obstacles. If you want an excellent performance mostly on road soccer mom SUV, there are better choices on the market... I recommend the Toyota 4 Runner... the FJ is for those wise adventurers who want a vehicle that can pass a Jeep, Explorer or Expedition, Chevy, or Hummer H3 that has wiped out on similar bad road conditions. I can always be counted on to get to work under any circumstance, and I can always be counted on to be having fun on my time off... on the challenging off-road trails of the Rocky Mountains. Be a wise consumer and don't overpay at the dealership for this much in demand vehicle. This vehicle is often on a waiting list... consider the 4x4 model that is available in the showroom. Jerry

My FJ
Got the 4X4 auto with all the upgrades...comfortable smooth ride..wind noise on hwy. is much less than expected (went without the roof rack)have one child so back doors are not a problem. rear visability is a bit limited, but easy to get used to. Radio is awesome...have owned much more expensive SUV's and so far this is the best in all around value. Like the fact you don't see that many on the road...yet!!

Amazing
I bought a 5-auto with B package in April and I'm still discovering it's limits. It's been off-road rock climbing and saw lots of mud and water while hunting and it's been flawless. I did switch to a more aggressive tire and they are slightly noisier than the original dunlops but they track better on the highway. Rear doors aren't ideal but usable. Rear visibility is limited but with backup sonar and reasonable mirors I can live with it. It's best feature's are ride, power and brakes. I'm approaching 20000km and wouldn't trade it for anything out there (of equal price or less.)
