A Dauntless Vehicle

Drove my Fj cross-country from Va. Beach Va. to Grand Junction, Colorado. A pleasurable trip. Encountered a major snow dump and rock slide around Denver that shut down the major roads and wasted scores of other 4-wheel drive vehicles (Ford Expeditions, Exterras and Jeeps wiping out and spinning out of control all around me on I-70 Rocky Mountain pass). Got to Ouravan and climbed a rocky, steep and sloppy muddy trail to my friend's ranch with no problem. It was fun. Did my research and got a great price on this jewel. Well done Toyota!

liked it but the airbags didn't deploy

I got hit by a hit and run escalade. It tipped over and my airbags didn't deploy. It was apretty hard hit. It looks like they'll total the car. Also bad gas mileage. around 15 all around town. The back seat is not easy to access. Other than that, it's a very fun car. Drives well. Smoother ride than you'd expect. A lot of fun. I got it for about 32000 with everything fully loaded 4X4

1st Brand New Car!!

I'm 45 and I got my first brand spankin' new FJ. So far I like it alot! I like all the options and accessories you can get for them, and it runs great(compared to my last vehicle). I got mine in the VooDoo Blue with rock rails, a trailer hitch and option package 2 (with the sub-woofer) it really get's alot of attention. People really seem to like the FJ, but aren't sure at first what exactly it is? I tell them "it's the new age Landcruiser". The last thing that I've noticed, is when you pass another FJ on the road the people inside tend to wave, like to a friend...

Toyota doesn't stand behind FJ Cruiser warranty

We purchased a 2007 FJ Cruiser for our family, it is our fourth and, unfortunatley, final Toyota (we have two Land Cruisers and a Highlander). After only 8000 miles the transmission failed on the FJ Cruiser and Toyota todate has refused to honor the warranty. The reason for the failure is moisture got into the transmission case. Toyota's reason for not honoring the warranty is because the vehicle was used off road. Keep in mind this is an off road vehicle; in fact Toyota advertises the FJ on their website as purely an off road vehicle - there are no pictures of the vehicle used on a road. We used the FJ in ways that are less demanding and safer than how the vehicle is marketed. Needless to say, we are surprised, dismayed and disappointed in Toyota's failure to honor their warranty on the new FJ. Buyers beware - stay clear of the FJ Cruiser. K.L. Maine

FJ-40 Is it BACK? R E L I A B I L I T Y

As a Land Cruiser owner FJ-60 and two FJ-40 in the past, I think this might be right up with FJ series. The transmission is unbeliable smooth. I don't think the dealer will ever see me again. (All the manuals are on the web) Unless I purchase an other for my children. Safest automobile on the road in my opinion.

Fun To Drive, Off Road Capable, Best Vehicle Ever

Very capable vehicle. Here in Colorado, the weather changes every 10 minutes, and the FJ shifts right back. Love the tough interior for the kids, yet its comfortable in cold weather. Smooth driving, even over icy and snowy roads. Plenty of power, and traction is excellent. Perfect vehicle for camping in the rough areas, as there's a standard 3-prong plug in the back. Highly recommended, very happy, and we're purchasing another one.

best suv i've owned

waited 5 weeks for this suv it was worth it the color is black cherry pearl everyone loves this color. it is easy to get in and out of ,all of the controls are very easy to reach ,the seat is a plus especially for my wife since she is short you can pump up the seat , or let it down if you are tall there is plenty of head room and the windshield is plenty wide to see,as well is the side windows it evens has three windshield wipers can't beat that.it is a automatic 4x4 has plenty of power, the stereo sounds great with the pkg 2 with subwoofer the ride is very comfortable. We would buy another FJ CRUISER

Good car with some shortcomings

Had the vehicle for 2200 miles. Love the styling and handling and some of the off road features. Power is very good. However visibility is terrible and seats are uncomfortable. Took a two hour drive and both my wife and myself had sore lower backs. Fuel tank is a little small and tricky to fill. Wish I had my expedition back.

745Li vs FJ Cruiser

Each morning I have two cars to choose from to drive; my BMW 745Li and FJ Cruiser. Maybe it's the newness, maybe the fun factor, maybe the height and who knows, but the FJ has won out 75% of the time since the FJ arrived in March. For long road trips, there is nothing better IMHO, than the 745. Around town, the FJ is just pure fun. For utility when towing and loading furniture etc, the FJ is perfect. Mileage on the FJ is 18-20 MPG, not bad and better than I expected. Wind noise from the roof racks is pretty significant, but the FANTASTIC FJammer stereo can crank above the noise. The system with the Sub-Woofer and in ceiling speakers is really excellent. Visibility on the FJ is poor and you need to use the mirrors; once you get used to it, though, it's fine. Would I buy the FJ again--ABSOLUTELY. Am I ready to give up my 745Li- No Way Two great vehicles....

dealers over pricing

Everything is great until you try to buy one. Dealers are over priceing them 4 to 5K. They are tagging a premium to the "sticker" price which is already inflated. do your homework before you go buy one.
