perfect highlander

I think that the 2005 Highlander was a perfect car for me and my family, minus the mileage that I was told that was to high. But it was very quiet compared to my car, that I'm currently driving now.

A great vehicle for family

We have had this vehicle for 14 years and can't say enough on how we have enjoyed having it and driving it on trips. Hauling the kayak to the lake. Bikes to rides. Been a great vehicle for us. It also had the third row witch on occasion was used.

Great Car For The Money

I bought the Limited trim of this car about one week ago. So far so good. It checked out quite well with my mechanic. This is something that I had done prior to purchase. And so far, I am really enjoying driving it. I have had two Toyota's prior - both Avalon's. So, I love the reliability of the Toyota brand. Since it has been just a week, however, only time will tell on the reliability factor for this particular vehicle. I suspect that all will be fine. I can say this though: I LOVE the third row seat/fold down option and the sheer versatility of the vehicle relative to its size - not too big. Coming from driving sedans all of my life, and with this being my first SUV, I am finding it to be a wonderful thing thus far.

Bang for the Buck

While I have only had this vehicle for a couple of days so far, I have already put several hundred miles on it, and I am impressed. The Highlander is not a standout in how it looks, but the V6 runs like a champ and has enough power to be a good people mover. Probably not the best tow option, but in terms of comfort, both in the city and highway, top notch.

Good But..

This car is good but steering system has issues. The pack & pinion along with intermediate steering shaft has issues possibly design at 107k it's bad and was previously replaced. The rack has also been replaced,so at this milage on 2nd. rack intermediate shaft possible need to be replaced has not been diagnosed but sounds mightly familiar.

Surprisingly The Best Car I?ve Owned

This car has been great to my family. The fact that the second row can be pushed forward for the 3rd row to have more leg room is extremely useful! I?ve sat in the 3rd row seat with a car seat next to me for long drives and it is doable for sure. Although once you get in a comfortable position space for luggage seems to get a little scarce, but that?s why I bought a roof cargo carrier which comes in handy for sure. I bought the car with 89,000 3 months ago, and I only use this car to go on long trips it now has 95,000 miles. It is reliable for sure and that AWD is surprisingly helpful for unexpected weather conditions! Totally recommend to those who want to own a small SUV.

Great Car

I purchased my car about six weeks ago. I bought it used from a dealership, it has 141,000 miles on it. I bought it because of the reliability ratings I saw online and the reputation of Toyota as a manufacturer. Shortly after I purchased it the sunroof broke, that's why the four star reliability rating. The car is a pleasure to drive, the V6 is good for when I take trips into the mountains. Accelerating and passing is a breeze. I very much enjoy driving the car, and I think the car has a timeless SUV look.

Cheap to Keep - Haul it All

This Toyota is reliable and thrifty - an uncommon combination of attributes. While not flashy, it gets the job done without raiding the pocket book. Runs like a charm, tows and hauls all matter of family and work materials. Many Many Miles of service
