2012 Highlander with 6000 miles

I'm a working mom with 2 tall teen sons with girlfriends. I wanted something that could haul everyone comfortably and get good gas mileage going to work. This fits the bill. We love it. Plenty of interior space with great cup holders and interior technology. The kids love the bluetooth and aux capabilities. Rides very smooth for long trips. I'm getting around 24 mpg, which is better than my previous car. My only complaints - interior lighting is poor (very dark), A/C drags on the engine (noticable - V6), exterior plain (I have SE model and think it would look better with a few more standard exterior bells and whistles). These are minor complaints - I wouldn't trade this car for anything and I'm very happy with our purchase. This is a very solid, reliable car, which I plan on enjoying for many years.

Great value

We just purchased a Toyota Highlander and feel like we got a great product for the money we spent. We have owned several Toyotas (still do) and have always considered them to be very reliable cars. Love the look of our new Highlander and really like that the middle seat can hold 3 or be buckets!

Perfect for my family...

Test drove Lexus 350 before purchasing my Highlander Limited, it drives better, more space, more options...just missing the Lexus logo...oh well I'll have to live with that..happily:)

Great vehicle!

I've had my new Highlander for 3 months and am totally satisfied. The drive is incredibly smooth and quiet!. The handling is very responsive. Live in a warm climate and find the A/C auto controls easy to operate and quick to cool.

Highlander-2012

Having owned a Toyota Tacoma, I decided to buy my wife a 2006 Toyota Rav 4. After the family came ( 2 boys) we discovered the Rav 4 was a little on the small size. Since Toyota was well made we decided to upgrade the Rav 4 and bought a 2012 Highlander. It was a great decision. Heated leather seats, not a squeek or rattle to be heard anywhere. We did have to get a block heater installed as I am located in Canada and well not so far this winter, but it does get cold here.It has xm radio and a sunroof, so for those long drives the tunes will be a nice thing to have. Also a change from the Rav 4 the tail gate actually opens up like is should, it is hinged at the top, not the side. I would tell anybody thinking about buying one to purchase one.The only thing we should have maybe ordered was a dvd sytem for the kids.

First choice for an SUV is a winner

Bought my 2012 Highlander Limited at the end of October. I have always been a (fast) car guy, so the thought of moving to an SUV of any size was daunting...but with 2 kids in car seats, I had to move to something bigger. This is my first Toyota, and it will probably not be my last. I love my Highlander! Size is really perfect for me: not too big, but big enough to lug 2 kiddos (and all the stuff that comes with them) around with plenty of room to spare. There are lots of little details that I keep finding that make me appreciate this vehicle even more. The cup holders that can accommodate multiple size cups, the USB port, the dual power plugs all are nice features. I actually love their GPS. Sound system (even if it is upgraded) is just OK, but more than sufficient. Drives like a dream, and is quicker than I had expected. The "7 seat" deal is ok for short trips...but as a long term option, not real practical unless you don't have any luggage at all. Love the Bluetooth as well. I don't like how the remote start gets killed as soon as you open the door...I don't like that you have to use the smart key to have the tail gate open automatically. But other than that, I find the Highlander superior to my wife's Murano...which was a pleasant surprise for this car-lover turned Daddy SUV owner.

Comfortable ride

Wife and I have owned for one month and we are pleased with the vehicle. We do consider this SUV to be a little large and would have preferred a Highlander with a size something in between the earlier 2000's Highlander and this 2012 model. The luggage space in the rear is tiny if the vehicle is being used to accommodate 7 passengers... there would be a need for a car top carrier to adequately carry luggage and other things required by a large group of people. Superior ride when compared to a Corolla, but not as good on gas, which was expected when we bought the Highlander Limited. Love the sound and GPS systems.

Joy to Drive

Overall I love my new Highlander! I only have 4000 miles so hoping the gas mileage keeps getting better. I'm getting 22 overall in town and around 26 highway. Goibg from GMC Acadia to Highlander I can say the Highlander is definitely not as plush but still very nice and has all I need. Hope I will be driving my Highlander for a very long time.
