To date, it's one of my favorite vehicles I've own
The 2016 Highlander XLE is a sharp, sleep, fun, modern SUV! It has great features, like a large touch screen for navigation, radio, weather, and calls! It's user friendly so you're not distracted while using it. The interior design is convenient for babies and kids in carseats! The captain seats in the 2nd row makes it easy for people to access the 3rd row, and everyone has their own area! The little features on the Highlander XLE that make life convenient include the little black button on the tailgate to access the rear window so you can load bags quickly without having to wait on the lift gate! There's a rear 'shade' stored in the spare tire compartment you can take out and use with the 3rd row down (I loved thst hidden feature! Keeps peeping Tom's from looking at your shopping bags or what not! A burgler deterrent 😉). The dark tint that's factory keeps the car cooler on hot days, and makes the styling that much sharper! The sunroof is a great touch along with the captain seat window shades!! VERY convenient for little ones that want the window down but you worry they MAY trow out their sippy cup or toy! 😆 The gas mileage is on point! I get anywhere between 18-25mpg depending on how I'm driving! Lol. Oh, the storage space in the center console and the sweet little 'shelf' that runs under the dash......AWESOME! I can store EVERYTHING and then some! It's the best! Now, the cons to my fabulous 2016 Highlander XLE, are the 3rd row, and head room. So, the 3rd row lacks luster on leg room. It is a VERY tight squeeze. It's not a big deal if you're placing, maybe, a child that's a big older and out of a carseat. There's plenty of leg room if you move the Captain seats up a bit, but then the Captain seats are very close to the driver and passenger seat, which is not preferred if you have a child in a forward facing car seat (talk about kicks in the back 🤦🏼♀️). The head room for the 3rd row isn't that great either due to the more rounded design. However, there are a lot of vehicles that changed to this design (the Pathfinder, Range Rover, Edge for example). My 5'8" daughter isn't comfortable in the 3rd row unless she is laying down, scrunched up, but I'M not comfortable with her doing that! Lol The cons were not enough to deter me from buying this vehicle, I really don't use the 3rd row a whole lot, so it wasn't a deal breaker 😊 This 2016 Highlander XLE is a great family vehicle! I highly recommend it!

Will get you there whatever the conditions
Reliable, good clearance above the ground, awd and spacious. Car for ski trips and dirt roads, and camped out in the flat back end on more than one occasion.

Sporty and Sleek
The Limited has all I needed with one exception. Power folding side mirrors. But cooled seats and all other features are perfect. It’s a very fast car too

Extremely reliable and smooth performer.
Does everything you expect it to. 3rd seat pretty useless, but they usually are in these size vehicles. Trim, detail. stereo, reliability..great vehicle. Its too bad there are SO many SUV's on the road that begin to all look like the same vehicle. This is no exception. But, while I used to own Lexus, Land Rover, Ford, Jeep SUV's - this by far out-does them in pure solidity, comfort and smoothness.

A Winner
After looking at 4Runners, Tacomas, Pilots..........the Highlander was the winner. I can't find one fault with the vehicle so far. It is a pleasure to drive, comfortable, good engine, design is top notch; just fun to drive.

Love my 2016 Highlander
I love this car! I had a Buick Encalve previously but I could not afford the gas. I was filling up every 2 days.. But my Highlander it’s so nice to not have to do that. Also I live down a dirt road and it’s so smooth in my Highlander. I can’t say it is my favorite. I had a RAV4 2019 it was my all time favorite. But we have kids, nieces, and nephews. I needed the third row. But I love it! I also agree on the headrest don’t much care for it..

2016 Highlander Limited Platinum
We decided to purchase a used Highlander Limited Platinum after owning a 2002 Highlander. I enjoy the heated and cooled front seats and the heated steering wheel. The Highlander has plenty of leg and headroom. The cargo department is huge with the third row seat folded down. I was able to haul large 5 1/2 foot long bale wrap cylinders with room to spare. I’m averaging 24.5 MPG in the first couple of weeks owning the car.

Love my Highlander
I bought a highlander new in 2003. It is the best car I have ever had. Drove it for 17 years and still runs great with 172,000 miles on it. Only doing regular maintenance and tires. I needed a 3rd seat for grandkids so I just got a 2016 Highlander. I love the way it drives and the style. I am going to love this car as much as the other one. The only drawback is leg room when the kids are still in a car seat. The seat comes to the edge so then their legs hang down and it is a really tight fit. Good safe car seats are big and when I have one behind the passenger seat that front seat has to be moved up almost all the way. If you have car seats that you leave in the car I would recommend checking on the Sequoia model. It might have more leg room. But I make due when I have the grandkids. I love this car and am hoping it also lasts me 17 years like my first one. (I sold the 2003 to a friends son and he is thrilled with it)
