I love my Prius.
Gets wonderful mileage, easy to drive, lots of space inside. Looks cool. I wish I could crank up the heater on a cool morning. I wish there was a thermometer so I could see how hot the engine is when climbing a hill on a hot day. It dents easily. I've put several dings in it.

Good choice for hybrids
The car is very comfortable, especially when it comes with leather pack. Everything is good except of that mileage is not the same as described. I noticed that when the car is driven by the hills it's gas mileage is far below the specs, however when driven by the city or on a straight highway, the mileage is excellent. The mileage on a hilly highway is averaged to 40 mpg, while on a straight road it gets to 45 and once in a while to 50. Overall excellent choice, just a little underpowered, what causing poorer mileage in mountains.

I'm Enjoying the Gas Mileage
I bought my Toyota Prius a couple of months ago. It was my first hybrid car, so it's a new experience. So far, it seems to get very good gas mileage, maybe around 45 - 46 mpg. It seems to do better in city driving than highway. I owned mostly Buicks before this (which I also like, but gas mileage is nothing to brag about). I like my Toyota, and I hope that if I'm ever in a crash with it, it will protect me as well as the Buicks did (2 separate occasions I was hit by someone running a red light). The only downside that I'm really aware of is that in order to turn the fan up or down for ac/heat, you have to go through the display, which is more distracting than turning a knob. Also, for the radio tuning, you need to go through the display (unless you preset). The manual adjustments are much more efficient and easy than having to touch the display, and the display is also hard to see in the sunlight. Other than that, I like my car a lot...so far!

Best Decision Ever
As our weather gets warmer in northern Michigan my Toyota Prius gets better gas mileage. I have a 40 mile commute one way. Because it is mostly highway driving (about 55-60 mph) I wasn't sure I would see great gas mileage. But I'm getting 54 mpg. Can't wait to see the kind of mileage I get in the summer months.

recent purchase - Jan 2007
The '07 Prius Touring Edition recently purchased with 50k miles lives up to it's predicted value in performance, milage and reliability. I was curious to see how it would manage our Vermont winter and was pleasantly surprised with it's snow-handling ability. New studed snow tires helped for sure and limiting driving to low snow depths and less icy conditions no doubt helped too. The low horsepower shows on our steep hills as the car struggles for power on climbs. Visibily front and back is acceptable and the camera in back helps. MPG has been in the low 40's this winter using snow tires. It was in the low-mid 50's with summer tires. So far, pleased with purchased especially as gas is approaching $4.00.

Toyota Quality has diminished
We have owned many Toyota cars and truck over the past several years and used to feel they were among the very top in terms of quality and value. In the past few years we have encountered serious issues with several of our Toyotas (main engine computer, headlight issues, major sludge issues and one of our Toyotas developed unintended acceleration issues within a few months of purchase. Toyota purchased that vehicle back without question). On this Prius we experienced problems with the expensive HID lights after just a few thousand miles (do a search, many others have reported this problem). The dealer wanted $300 each to replace the headlight bulbs, YES $300 EACH. And they said that it might not be just the bulbs that needed replacing! Many of the issues occurred after the warranty had expired and Toyota refused to do anything about the problems despite the fact that the issues were very widespread and obviously the result of faulty manufacturing/quality control. We have decided to stop buying Toyota made vehicles. Much happier with Honda.

great reliability and roomy
Purchased this car 1 year ago and has been very reliable. I get around 48MPG on this vehicle using the A/C and heat occasionally. There is alot of interior room with the rear seats folded down. I was able to put a 50 gallon water heater in the back when I needed to replace ours at our home. I was sold....thought I was going to need a truck.

Great choice
Purchased this vehicle because of the reliability history, gas mileage, and hatchback versatility. This vehicle has exceeded my expectations. I am hoping to see better MPG figures when the weather warms up. The cold weather in Wisconsin takes a beating on MPG. I am averaging approximately 46 MPG. I do occassionaly use 'hypermiling' techniques. Dont get me wrong, 46 MPG is excellent. I get better MPG driving the Prius compared to my Harley Davidson Road King! I love the quality of the material on the seats. The rear seats fold down practically flat and provide a lot of space. I fit a 47" flat screen television in the box laying flat. with room to spare! The prius has more room then most small to medium sized gas guzzling SUV's. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking to save money on gas and maintenence costs.

I am a Believer
I didn't want to like it, but I love it now.... Best part aside from comfort, plenty of space for passengers and versility. Filling up the tank 1 per week for less than $30.
