My wallet loves this thing!
The professional reviewers have said they usually don't remember testing the Prius as there is nothing exciting about the car. It is an appliance that gets you from one place to another VERY efficiently. I totally agree. For excitement it doesn't hold a candle to the MINI Cooper S Convertible I test drove, but this Prius will run just fine this afternoon, next week and next year. I retired and now I buy gas once a month. My best mileage was 52 MPG on a tank of gas in the summer (batteries don't like the cold of winter).

The most trouble free car ever
The Prius is absolutely the most affordable, easy to own, trouble free car I have owned over the last 50 years. Other than oil changes, it has required nothing beyond maintenance. Examples. We now have more than 192,000 miles on this car. Front brakes were replaced once at 117,000 miles, rear brakes are still good. I finally replaced the spark plugs at 191,000 miles, although there was no indication that it was necessary. Other than that... just oil changes, and tires. That's it!!! We get about 48 mpg in the summer and about 40 mpg in the winter. Overall....we average 44 mpg throughout the year, which is just as was advertised. The car has much more internal room than it appears from the outside. My wife and I have made four cross country trips in this vehicle, and found it to have plentry of space. Friends who sit in the rear seat are surprised at how much room they have. I highly recommend a Prius.

New Owner, Loving It So Far
I recently bought a used 2008 Prius with over 100,000 miles on it. So far, it feels like an incredible value. The fuel economy is the obvious perk. The not-so-obvious perks are the drive and features available with this car. We purchased a Prius with the Package 5 add-ons so it comes with most of the extra bells and whistles, but I was impressed with how current and up-to-date the technology in the car feels, despite the fact that it is nine years old. The ride has been very impressive as well, with the car as a whole feeling very solid and smooth in most driving conditions. Also, despite its smaller appearance from outside, the interior is very spacious with lots of useful space for packing things in. At its current age and mileage, the Prius still feels like a high-quality car, and, in my opinion, is a great used car value.

Love this car!
We love our Prius! It "teaches" you how to drive for excellent fuel economy. I averaged 52.9 mpg on my commute from work today. The instant feedback is really motivating. This car is well designed, comfortable and fun to drive.

Nothing beats a Prius
This is my favorite car of all time. Its reliability and gas savings is what made me purchase this car for the second time. I had another Prius that I owned for 3 year until I had a no fault accident. I am going to purchase one for my daughter. We both are Final Expense Specialist and we drive thousands of miles per year. This car I spend about 25.00 to 30.00 per week on gas so about 120 a month. I know people who drop that a week in the tank! I used to think my dream car was A BMW not anymore no other maker of cars has the secret recipe like Toyota does with the Prius!

2008 Prius
The car has cost me more than what I consider reasonable over the last few years. Between that, difficulty viewing cars passing on the left and right, so so traction in the snow and windows that quickly fog, I will probably not buy another Prius. The only strong plus is the mileage.

Great Value
I bought a used 2008 Prius with 70,000 miles on it five years ago. It now has 233,000 miles on it and I haven't done anything except oil changes and new tires. This is my second Prius and I will get another when this one dies. The ONLY problem I have encountered is replacing the headlights. The high beam filament never breaks but I have replaced several because the low beam breaks. I am unable to replace a simple headlight bulb because of where they are placed. My mechanic hates to replace the one of the driver's side because he has to remove the entire fuse box to reach it. It tears me up to pay a mechanic for an hour's labor to replace one headlight bulb!

G8 car!
I admit I was nervous about finally taking the plunge and buying this car a couple years ago. Looking back, I should have never hesitated as the car has been a winner. Like most owners, I find the leather seats below average in comfort but that is the worst thing I can say about the car. It is extremely reliable and has never stranded me. It has a comfortable ride and has a very solid feel to it. It gets about 43 mpg in winter and around 47 mpg in the spring and summer. My car has a very pessimistic gas gauge but I've learned to live with it. 400 miles is a good time to fill up for my car in the summer and 350 miles in the winter. It is one of the least expensive cars to maintain I've ever had and it's easy to do your own work. I've changed the cvt fluid, the oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter and the 12v battery without any problems. There is a reason that many cab companies use this car! I have enjoyed this car so much I bought a new 2014 Prius and it is more comfortable with cloth seats and rides a touch better. If you are on the fence about this car, don't be as if it checks out with your mechanic it will be a great car! Zero regrets here...even though gas is now $1.69 your gas bill will still go down by half or more and that is not chump change!

Totally pleased with 2008 Prius Touring Car.
Try as I might, I cannot find anything to complaint about with this vehicle. I give it top marks in every category. I would highly recommend to anyone hesitant about purchasing this outstanding vehicle. Those who find something to complain about must be very hard to please.
