Best car ever owned

The Prius II gets 52 mpg on average, and at 65 mph on the Interstate gets between 57 and 70 mpg depending on the grade. On long trips, (over 1500 miles) it is comfortable and stable.

What a car

We bought our Prius new with only the thought of saving a few bucks on gas. Wow are we surprised. Not only saving money but it's one of the most comfortable cars we have had. We get an honest 50 on the highway but not as good around town because of the hills. We thought we would never take it on trips but found out that it would carry about everything we need including the cat. The car is a very pleasant surprise. Really enjoy the blue tooth, but the navigation system is a litle too complicated.

Great economical car

I have had Prius 2010 for three months now. It was a dealer demo car with low miles. I had decided to buy Camry until I drove a Prius. I had my doubts about Prius' performance on the road but just one test drive proved me wrong. It does getting used to the performance of the electric motor. It is slow to pick up speed unless you step on the gas and kick in the gasoline engine. The car is very easy on gas. I have been getting 48-50 miles per gallon on Hwy driving. The best I got was 51.5 MPG on Hwy driving. Stereo and climate contols on the steering are great. So is the dashboard display which give you a lot of information and helps you drive in an efficient and economical way. The looks small from outside but it is very roomy from inside. It has good leg room for the rear passingers. Overall it is a great car for the money. Not to mention its low emmisions help preserve the environment.

One of the best cars I've ever owned

This car is everything Toyota claimed it to be. I average 48 to 50 MPG on the highway doing 70 plus miles per hour. And in the city and side roads 55 to 60 MPG. The money I am saving on fuel is adding up quickly. I often travel on 1000 trips and the comfort in this car is unbelievable. Big Bang for the buck. I Highly recommend this vehicle to everyone.

2010 Prius III

I bought the care as a Toyota Certified used vehicle with 10K miles on it from a Toyota Dealer in February 2011, so I've only had it a few months. So far it's a great car. i like the way it drives and I'm getting 50 MPG with mostly highway driving. A few small annoyances - the shifter is odd, - pull it back to go forward and pull it forward to go in reverse, just the opposite of what you'd think. Rear visibility takes a bit of getting used to. If you can afford a Prius IV with a backup camera it might be a worthwhile option, can't say for sure since I don't have one. The battery could be better- I found I can only go a few miles in electric only mode before the battery gives out. The new plug in Prius with LI ion batteries will be a definite improvement. If you are considering a used 2009 Prius vs a 2010 , get the 2010, there are a lot of small improvements that make the 2010 a better car. Overall I think the Prius will be the best car I've ever owned.

Great Mileage

I bought my 2010 Prius with 30K and have driven it for about 3K. I bought the car for one reason only - to get the best gas milage I could get. Typically, I get around 45-48 MPG in and around town. How you drive makes a huge difference. On one trip I got 55MPG - that was the best mileage I have got. As far as the exterior, I like it other than the rear. I think Toyota leaves it pretty much the same as some sort of easy identification maybe? The interior materials are surprisingly low quality. The seat fabric appears to be very thin and prone to stains although mine is in good condition. The worst part is all the dash rattles and squeaks. I have had it in to get them fixed, and they did find some of them. I have given up at this point. Maybe it is due to the plastic that they use. Overall, it serves it's purpose as a comfortable vehicle that gets great gas mileage.

Reliable very economic sedan with technology

I saw reliability of 2010 rated average by some, but within three months of ownership, I have not had any problems. The ride is comfortable, though not very fast leaving the traffic lights, but not so that I h feel that I was holding up the traffic behind me. It took a few days to get used to Prius which, is designed to be a hybrid, not retrofitted to exsisting car. The mpg number, though listed as 44 miles, my average has been 49-50 mpg for all fill-ups. Nice to have a car that fills up with 8 gallons and go 400 miles. I discovered the total insurance cost is even less than my 10 year old Camry V6XLE. (About $120 less a year) I do not feel cramped in Prius, about the same as Camry. My model, which was in the dealer lot was Prius III but I had leather seats installed and navigator system was already installed. It gives me a confidence to go where I am not familiar. Prius has to be a very appropriate card for a small family, (because you have to leave the air intake in the back seat area free of objects. I also had a NO-interest loan for 60 months, which made it a great savings. I am not activating the satelite radio as I do not go out of my area more than once or twice a year but it is there if I need it. It is not RX7 or other sporty cars I have owned before but it gives me a good feeling of saving energy (gas). I recommend to anyone who enjoys technology and reasonably comfortable ride with reduced expenses.

Prius V is GREAT!

I replaced my 1998 Expedition with a 2010 Prius V with the Tech Package. I love driving it and I love all the toys. As gas prices go up, I couldn't care less. I went from 24 gallons per week to less than 9. My wife didn't think she would like it, but she loves driving it (Sorry babe, it's mine). Even when I drive hard, I get 43-47 miles per gallon (I don't drive like a Prius nerd). In warm weather, mileage is even better. LOVE MY PRIUS

Excellent car

We bought a 2010 Toyota Prius IV with leather seats, seat heaters, navigation package and back up camera. The Prius is an outstanding car. I was warned about a Prius only being a city car. Some said it would not make sense to own a Prius if you lived in the country. Nonsense. We live in a rural setting. We drive mostly paved country roads, some interstate, and some in-town driving. We never drive stop-and-go city traffic. Our Prius gets an honest 56 - 57mpg on average. It's amazing. Others have said, "The Prius heater is inadequate, the car will not get warm enough when running on battery..." Simply not true. Our Prius heater will burn you out of the car if you want. And, the A/C will freeze you out if you want it that cold. One minor problem. I am rather tall--6'2". I must duck a little to see overhead stop lights in town. The bubble-type roof of the Prius allows me enough headroom but my line-of-sight is very close to the top of the windshield. The 6 way adjustable driver's seat helps with this limitation. Finally, we should have bought two. The last thing I hear my wife say as she leaves is, "I'm taking the Prius!"
