Impressive
Love the gas mileage and surprised by the level of comfort. It's not luxurious but still comfortable enough for long distance traveling. My gas mileage continues to improve as the car teaches me to drive more fuel efficiently. I've tracked my mileage for the past 18 months originally averaging around 45 mpg. Now I average 50 mpg. Only two complaints. No automatic headlights and no way to open the hatchback door without opening all other doors. This is a personal safety hazard that could easily be fixed by adding another open/lock button to the fob.

for the price i pd., had better cars
Just traded in 2910 prius for $16,000, 39,000 miles, pd. $24,000 no problems. I can"t use in the winter snows because of poor traction & low to the ground. Even when using the radio, I"m limited on listening time because the battery shuts down (when engine is shut off). When I"m driving, I"m reminded of the carton show George Jetsens. The mpg averages 42, only on highway driving will I get more mph"s. Trunk space is small, the ride is not the best. I bought the new 2012 sunaru impreza and love it. If I the mpg city are around 30, I"ll be happy The future concern on the prius is the battery replacement that can cost $3,000. One should consider a hybrid versa a non-hybrid, how long wound it take to break even on the cost of gas. Also, the minerals used on the hybrid are rare and only are available in a few countrys.

Prius or not to Be
This car is absolutely fantastic I can get easily 50+ miles per gallon. of course I adapted my way of driving along the years but hey, you have to make smart choices in life. that's how it is. In life you have information then you make your choice; continue to feed esso and shell or save the planet and keep your money!

Good reliable transportation
My Prius has performed as expected. It has been very reliable and has, of course, achieved excellent gas mileage - although not at the level advertised on the window sticker. It is a great car for "around-town" transportation but suffers from road now on the highway. A luxury cruiser, it is not.

OH MY ACHING BACK!!!
Bought my 2010 Prius III brand new because of my rather long commute. Needed good gas mileage and RELIABILITY (previous vehicle was a 2007 VW Passat, which I loved but was bleeding me dry in repair costs after 75k miles). I should've done more research before buying the Prius, I admit. I knew I couldn't go wrong with Toyota for reliability. And the gas mileage is great, but that doesn't make up for the agony I endure driving this vehicle 2 hours a day Mon-Fri. The seats have NO support, and I mean none. I'm petite...5'2", and weigh around 130 and the seat isn't deep enough for MY short legs. NO thigh support. And zero lumbar support, plus the headrest tilts forward at an odd angle, putting my whole head/neck/back in an awkward position. This has caused me severe neck & shoulder pain, as well as muscle spasms. I've tried lumbar support inserts, but that's not even enough. the best thing I did was turn the headrest around backwards so it no longer pushes my head forward in an awkward way. Aside from the seat being absolutely horrid, the car just feels cheap. All the $$$ went into the hybrid technology, and it shows. The "upholstery" feels thinner than my blue jeans, and I'm surprised it hasn't ripped. It feels that flimsy. The roofing material feels like recycled cardboard. Every surface is hard, cheap-feeling plastic. In cold weather, I can feel a cold draft coming in around the door handle. And the car is LOUD! Yes it's quiet when tooling around town at 35 MPH, but get on the highway and look out! There is little to no noise insulation. And the metal comprising the body of the car is so thin, you could dent it with a Nerf football. The other big complaint (besides uncomfortable seats and cheapo materials) is how EASILY the car gets blown around! My god! If there's ANY crosswind whatsoever, you get pushed around and forget it on the freeway next to a semi truck. My nerves have been absolutely shot from driving this thing during rain/storms. Between being blown all over, and hydroplaning in very little water, I do not feel secure in this car. It just feels light as a feather and as if anything can push or blow you off the road. And as many have mentioned, the ABS brakes fail if they are depressed and you go over a pothole or bumpy section of road. NOT good. I'm not all negative....I enjoy the Bluetooth, satellite radio, and auxillary port for playing MP3s or Pandora radio, etc. (although the sound quality is awful even though I have the upgraded JBL system) The audio and temp controls on steering wheel are nice. Great visibility i.e. no bad blind spots. Lots of cargo room for such a small vehicle. It has been extremely reliable with nothing more than routine maintenance. and of course...the gas mileage can't be beat. It's a personal choice, but I wish I'd bought a Camry, Accord or Altima. I could've gotten a nice version of any of those cars for what I paid for the Prius, AND been comfortable and felt safer. I would be spending more on gas, but for me...it would be worth it. AT least I could enjoy what I was driving and not have excruciating pain.

prius iv
Just drove to Az. from Il. & back. The car was comfortable and economic. (42 MPG) covering about 5000 miles. I can not say enough about the way the car handled, only one thing that I do not have on this car that would be nice is a back support. (moon roof, leather seats,17" rims and navigation)

Best bang for your buck!
I was surprised at how roomy it is. I thought it was going to be a small economy car, but I am thrilled with my purchase. I went from driving a GMC Safari which gave me 13mpg to the Prius which I am now averaging 49.3mpg. The $350.00 I was spending on gas are now going towards my car note. Very happy about that!!!

First time Hybrid Owner
Was rather skeptical when we purchased this vehicle but now that we have had it for approximately 6 weeks we are extremely confident with our choice and haven't looked back. The fuel economy is unparalleled with what we were used to. We always filled our vehicles up weekly and the average cost was around $55 (@ $3.34/gallon). Now, we still fill up weekly, however our tank is musch smaller and the cost is only around $28-30 at the same gas price. Best decision we have made concerning transportation and the uncertainty that faces gas prices. Highly recommend!

Great Choice
Just finished a 3,375 mile trip through TX, NM, AZ. UT, and CO. with a overall trip gas MPG of 47.2 . I can say the car ran great in all elevations and exceeded my expectations for overall gas mileage! Some tanks there was interstate driving that was 80MPH, of course gas mileage suffered but the average still came out 47.2 . Comfort was fine, navigation worked well, noise was minimal so I really can not complain and would recommend this car to anyone looking to save some $$$.

I can't remember where the gas station is...
I love my car, I go for weeks before I need to get gas. I upgraded from a 2007 Dodge Caliber when gave me nothing but problems. It was not reliable at all something went wrong with that car on a quarterly basis. The 2010 Prius was a huge upgrade, it's spacious, quiet, smooth and I got the Solar Sun Roof Package that I always wanted!
