Not designed for winter
I live in canada and this car is not designed for winter. The rear window has no windshield wiper even though it has a very shallow slope. The cabin heating is terrible. I was expecting the car to use the electricity when plugged in to warm the batteries and cabin when I set it to charge on the car's timer. IT does not. Instead the engine comes on to warm the batteries, wasting gas. The user interface design design of the dashboard and console are poor. The manuals are very poorly written and about 3 inches thick. The speech recognition is dumb. (Even if it does not connect to a server like SIRI and google, it still should have been better.) On the plus side, it uses very little gas. The hybrid mode is ridiculously stingy on gas. The switch from EV to hybrid is almost imperceptible if you are listening to music. Most days I drive on EV only, but I don;t go very far. Range does not seem very affected by cold because the engine comes on to warm the batteries.

Car is great.
I have not had any issues at all. It is a great car for what i need. I keep looking for any problems since the warranty would cover the cost but it has been flawless.

User interface needs work
The screen and etunes is one of the worst user interfaces I have ever seen. Confusing and difficult to operate with out taking a prolong look. Toyota, you need to do some upgrades!

Lasts and lasts
While EVs are the rage - charging is still in the woods at least next decade for long distance travel. Toyota has been a leader and mastered hybrid engines. The prius prime is an apex predator in this. A smoothened version of the older plugjn with smooth head turning lines, curved glass at rear puttin it in lam class. Wxcellwnt engine performance and a EV range of 25 that wasily stretches to 35 -40 sometimes. Car is a blast with 55 mpg for regilar driving including freeways - lowers to 45 if you go north of 75. Gripes? The dash is good but the large screen wap the gos is unusable as the driving track is difficult to see and there is too much clutter in the UI . Needs a complete rebuild. To reduce weight Toyota has seemingly reduced door panel and other panel thickness. While it may not seem much the door gets dinged almost with nothing !! You also loose a seat ( the prime is a 4 seater ) for no apparent reason and the boot is much smaller . However, this is an excellwnt commute and low noise long distance car. I have driven my Prius north of 150k miles each and if there is ine car that is very sophiticated but needs minimal maintenance, fuel economy and range - the Prius wins hands down

Still new, so unknown reliability
This car has a lot of features I love, like intelligent cruise control and warning when getting onto stripes. And, the best feature, plug in battery giving me an average of over 70 mpg so far.

Fuel effecient and practical for city commute
Will meet /exceed need for city commute for family of four or less. For example family living in city with need of driving 80 miles per day will save the user at least $2500 in gas per year.

Just had this car over one month. Love it so far!
Cant believe the gas mileage we are getting! Around 60 mpg! My only complaint so far is the back seat is pretty small. Don’t think the back seat would be comfortable for a long drive.

The BEST
Beautifully styled, roomy interior, practical hatchback. Best is how economical it is. I fill up with fuel, perhaps twice a month!!! Rides smoothly and quiet interior. If I won the lottery, this is still the car I would own!!’

Takes a lot of time to learn about the car
I'm still reading all the manuals! There's a lot to learn if your previous car was NOT a hybrid! But I'm grateful the plug-in cord is long enough to go over and across the car to the outlet in my garage.
