Fun to drive
Rear gate is difficult in tight quarters, but cargo space is worth the hassle. Milage is good, about 24 mpg in mixed driving. Car is shorter than it appears making it good for short garages and parking. Turning radius is better than expected. I like this vehicle!!!

Poor paint quality, the rest is good.
This car has get up and go. However, the paint job is horrible. It is to the point where if I sneeze, the paint will chip. Becuase of this I would not buy a RAV4. Our previous car had no problems with paint chips (and is was a Ford). If you use in snow (like here in Colorado), don't expect much from this car. The light weight makes it unstable. It is loud inside, but the sound system is a great help with that. The center cup holders leave much to be desired as they don't hold much. Worse yet, the glove box sticks in the winter.

Comfort
Am I the only one that thinks the seat's are poorly designed? They are very uncomfortable to me(very hard). I discussed this with the Dealer with no results. So much for the superior quality they talk about

"Stable - no problems!"
I purchased a reasonable 2006 Toyota RAV4 Limited 4WD version in March and have loved it ever since. The interior qualities are on par with those in Lexus and high-end Toyota models and were better than the all-hard-plastic I found in Chevrolet and other GM models. The instrumentation panels are very bright and are a big improvement over my outgoing 2001 Honda Civic. I found many interior amenities to be more than what I expected. MP3 player, six-CD changer, auxillery port, and other luxuries. I've taken the RAV4 off-road many times - dirt trails and through water even. It handles very well for a base 4WD model.

more room inside
The Toyota Rav4 has always been a car that has a good price and drives well for the money. This is my second Toyota with the first one I had no major problems.

best suv out there
get the V-6. You get a 5-speed and awesome power and quietness. Lots of room. I have had a crv and it's a good vehicle, but this new Rav4 is in a class of it's own for the money. Only thing I don't like is where the tire is, but it does give you a lot more room.

I'm little disapointed
Checked out all the smaller SUV's before we purchased 2006 Toyota Rav 4, with the price of gas, we decided to buy the 4 cly, front wheel drive only, thinking the gas milage would be close to,like we were told 24 in town and 30 on highway, we purchased the Rav in Feb of 2006, in March we went on a trip to Florida, with only 1000 miles on new Suv, after putting on over 3000 miles mileage was around 25 to 29 on higway, very happy, but after the trip we started to check mileage in town, what a surprise, sometimes only 17, at time maybe 19.Contacted Toyota, the said the rating is not corect, they send me a large E-mail, explaining all the different thing that can cause poor gas mileage, also I saw a new chart for the Rav 4, and it said 20 in town 27 highway, I also have large 1998 Olds 88 that get better mileage in town and highway, how do explain that.

so far great vehicle
Love the new Rav, it works out great for me with the constant need to haul stuff plus with our winters in MN the 4 wheel drive is a must. Gets great mpg. Only negative is that the paint seems to scratch way too easy.

We love our 06 rav4
My family and I love our new rav4. we got the 4 cyl. 4x4 it gets great fuel economy and has enough space for our double baby stroller and groceries. The 4cyl. has plenty of power and handles well my wife loves driving it and says its easier to manuever than our small sedan was. she really likes the visibility and telescopic/tilt steering wheel. I like the auto 4x4 system its alot like all wheel drive. Our base model has pwr windows, pwr locks, keyless entry, 6 disc chngr, alloy wheels and side curtain airbags and a 36mo. or 36,000 mile bumper to bumper and 5year 60k drivetrain warranty All for around a $24,000 MSRP.
