2008 Toyota RAV4 consumer reviews

Met my needs for high school until I no longer wanted the car. Worked well for commuting to school and work. It also does well in the snow.

I like the gas mileage and though I bought it 2nd hand I had to only fix a noise on it. It cost me 188 bucks to fix it and that is all that I've done to it in the 3 years that I had it. One of the best used cars I have ever owned.

This car has met all my expectations. I like the interior roominess and comfort. It handles smoothly, and has great pick-up. It also has 2 USB ports and a decent sound system.

This car was a great car to have in collage and still as we began our family. Was a small SUV that didn’t get great MPG but it was fun to drive and did a great job for the 5+ years we had it.

I can put down the middle seat and I have all sorts of room to carry stuff and I can buy lumber and put it on top and strap it down. Plus I get good mileage. Need I say more?

I would avoid the 2.4 engine. Burns oil, many recalls and uncomfotable. 4 wheel drive only 25mph or under. Embarrassed I bought this car. Has left me stranded with oil and coolant issues. Horrible gas milage.

The RAV4 provides great room, good acceleration and great visibility while driving. An excellent get-around-town SUV. Also good on the road for long distance trips.

I bought this 2008 RAV4 Limited back in Nov. 2008 and it has simply been one of the best cars I have ever owned. The V6 engine is smooth and powerful and will leave other 4-cyl. SUV's in the dust! After about 20K miles the transmission started making a whining sound. The transmission was replaced with an improved version that had specially honed gears. This was done free under warranty and the new transmission has been quiet ever since. The water pump started making a rattling sound at 42K miles. It too was replaced under warranty with a new and improved version. Neither of these problems was a show-stopper--the RAV4 has never left me stranded or required towing. Both these problems were quickly taken care of by Price Leblanc Toyota free of charge and with a loaner vehicle as well. Couldn't be happier with my RAV4!

The only flaw I find with this Rav4 is how the cargo area opens. Very inconvenient, opens to side instead of up. Still a good vehicle.

I drove a Toyota Highlander for years. Recently, someone hit me and totaled my car. I believe the solidness of my Highlander protected me from further injuries than I received. Since I no longer have a soccer team in the back of my car, I chose to buy a Toyota RAV4. It is used, but is in excellent shape and looks brand new...and they honestly hold their value!
