I bought this truck to replsce a full size pick up. Everyone told me go with a toyota . I bought it feeling confident I bought a quality vehicle yhat would last s long time. I got a 2012 v6 4.0 dbl cab 4x4. The truvk was comfortable but lacked a little on the performance end. The motor started to knock and ping like crazy after 3500 babied miles. Look online this is a common issue with this motor but not all. A majority of these motors are defective and toyota is not standing behind their product. I traded it in and bought a nissan frontier. It is a give and take but I assure you the nissan powertrain is far superior. Before you buy a tacoma google 4.0 toyota tacoma motor knock....for $33k it should not be knocking and pinging. Toyota is living off a 30 year old reputation....terrible product.

I replaced a 2012 TRD Tacoma 4x4 with this 2013 model. A few refinements, mostly in the transmission software (shifts smoother), interior electronics ( enTune) and brakes (more modulated pedal). Rides quieter, also-Toyota must have added more sound deadening material. Like most years, incremental improvements on a great truck. One gripe - on the TRD pkg, the took the Homelink out of the mirror for some reason. Now I have to go back to using my old push button opener. ;-(

I have never owned a Toyota before as I always thought the cost to benefit ratio was not up to my standard. The dealers never seemed to want to put forth any effort. It was basically here is the vehicle and you should buy it because it is a Toyota. I was able to find a good deal and dealer this time and had a great experience. The truck is fantastic! I bought a fully loaded Tacoma and love it. The model is the 4x4 four-door with the extended bed so plenty of room for passengers and loads. The back seat is comfortable even for adults and kids love it. Since the bed is composite instead of metal, I would expect no rust issues like most trucks and it eliminates the need for a bed liner as well. Plenty of tie-downs and the rack system for them is great! I can't speak to reliability yet as I have only owned the truck for a few weeks but it is great so far.

This truck had everything on my wish list. Des Moines Toyota was great. They showed me several options and choices. The double cab TDR gave me the room to haul my gear and room for some of the grand kids too.

Overall, we are very happy with new truck. I feel more protected if compare with sedan cars. It's easier to look far ahead and I like back up camera too. No negative commends.

The base standard model comes without cruise control. I have added a cruise control after the purchase for approx. $ 300.00.

I bought a d cab 4x4 v6 auto in Jan. Now I have 9200k on the odo with zero issues. The truck is very capable, comfortable and a great value. I came from a 99 xcab v6 4x4 5 spd and I only gave up about 1 mpg. Overall i get high 18s or low 19s here with mixed high way and city driving. my only complaint would be the carrying capacity of the rear leaf springs. while rated at 1400 lbs, the rear sure squats with no where near that in the bed. This is the case also while pulling a trailer. I have a 12 foot trailer with a 4 wheeler and a tool box that squats the rear pretty good. i do have the trailer tow group with the weight distibuting hitch.

Needed a truck as a 3rd car to use for camping and some off road trips with my son. Given it was a 3rd car wanted something mid-size that I can park in the driveway. I looked at the Tacoma and the Frontier. Both had similar features, but the styling on the Tacoma I found to be better. I also wanted a model that was already set up to be used for 4x4ing. The Baja TX Tacoma edition fit the profile perfectly and I didn't have to do any aftermarket upgrades that would void the warranty. So far the truck is great and given the Baja is designed for off road it's not too rough on the road. Defiantly glad I didn't go with the Frontier

I wanted a truck that was reliable, something to drive around town and that would handle the snow in Colorado. I will tell you my only issue is that as noted in other reviews, the seats are really low to the ground. I have found myself using a cushion to prop me up a bit more in the drivers seat. ( I am only 5'2 ) But other than that, thumbs up to this truck
