This is the car I bought to spoil myself

I love my Atlas SEL Premium. LOVE. It is the ONLY car I have ever bought new from a car dealership. And yes, I determined to spoil myself a bit. Having spent the extra for both the SEL and the Premium package beyond that, I recommend not settling for less than these features (which were SEL in 2019, but may be available in the other packages in newer models): 1. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), 2. 360° parking assist cameras, and 3. Digital Cockpit (instrument cluster). These three features are absolutely worth the extra cost. I literally use these features every single time I'm behind the wheel. I drive everywhere with ACC enabled, so I have a proper following distance—even in town as slow as 20 mph. I use the 360° cameras to park on a line inside my own garage, and to make sure I'm within the lines in every parking space. And the digital cockpit is the icing on the cake. Being able to change what is displayed on-the-fly is fantastic! I chose the 7 passenger model, with the 3-seat middle row. I still have a lot of passengers, and the ability to EASILY accommodate and (un)load them with the most configurable seats I've ever seen in any vehicle is a selling point for ALL of the packages, not just the SEL. Having seat warmers (a cold-weather package option, available in the middle row of seats as well on some packages) and a steering wheel warmer has been delightful in the colder months. The perforated leather in the front seats also accommodates seat coolers, which is terrific in the summer months. On many occasions we've laid all of the seats down and just used the cargo space like a giant station wagon. We've also used the incredibly adaptable middle row seats to accommodate car seats and boosters. The entire middle row can fit 3 car seats/boosters, and yet still tilt forward to allow passengers to get into the 2 rear seats (which allow for a surprising amount of leg room!), without removing or decoupling the car seats. I cannot imagine a more effective, comfortable family car (and we also own a 15 passenger Chevy Express, so we know about transporting large numbers of people). This is my favorite car I've ever owned, and I intend to baby it until it dies, or I sell or—more likely—give it to one of my children when they need a larger family vehicle. Oh, and one more thing: I really like the Fender audio system (SEL Premium only). The built-in subwoofer makes a huge difference, and I love it. Did I mention I love this car?

Drives good and is comfortable

This isn’t a big deal or a deal breaker but we got a Atlas with the tow package. But didn’t know that with the tow package you still have to buy after market parts to get the adaptor to hook trailer lights up. So I’m sitting at Volkswagen dealership right now waiting for them to add the adapter for trailer lights which will cost me a additional $69 for part. This is stupid . If someone pays for a tow package the light adapter should be standard . Not a major deal but it is annoying an stupid.

5 trips to the repair shop in 7 months

I purchased a new SEL FWD R-Line in January 2020. We loved the aesthetics of the vehicle but soon became beyond frustrated. Multiple noises necessitated 5 trips to the dealership service department: a knocking noise in the front axle (replaced sway bar connection twice), a popping sound in the steering column (replaced power steering rack), and a whining sound behind the dash (replaced a heat shield). We were orinally told the power steering rack was on indefinete backorder. I had to open a claim with VW Care to get things moving. I also purchased the Gold protection package that covered body and windshield dings. My car was in the shop for two weeks waiting on the "guy that does windows" to actually show up and make the repair...which never happened. The Gold package is a scam. We tried to get VW to buy the car back, but were denied. We ended up trading it in for a Subaru Ascent and couldn't be happier.

Love the interior, it has a rugged exterior look.

Great family hauler. Seats are comfortable from the 1st row to the third. Perfect for those that have kids in sports. As a 2 row vehicle the cargo space is enormous, as a 3 row vehicle it has the functionality to compete with bigger vehicles.

Good SUV

Everything was good but yesterday I found both sun visor light assembly clip broke and the cover crack from the heat. What materials was use? This should be part of the recall. I only have my car for less than a year. I am not the only one have this issue.

Excellent vehicle

This vehicles has exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable, quite, smooth riding and extremely roomy. Only negative comment would be lower than expected or desired fuel mileage.

Most comfortable vehicle I have ever ownef

This car is so spacious inside which was a major selling point. It is also very easy to see out of, with nice big windshield and windows. It is extremely comfortable and I am looking forward to taking it out west this weekend.
