Vehicle Overview

The CC debuted for the 2009 model year as Volkswagen’s latest model. The CC stands for “comfort coupe,” which is an attempt to define the car’s combination of a coupe-like body style and four doors. With seating for four, the CC comes with either a turbocharged four-cylinder or a V-6 engine, and all-wheel drive is available. Competitors include the Acura TSX and Volvo S60.

New for 2012
An analog clock and dark wood trim have been added to 2.0T Lux Plus, Lux Limited and VR6 Executive trim levels.

Exterior
Up front, the CC is defined by a pair of flared headlamps that flank a thin, wide grille. The side profile arches upward along a well-defined center crease line, similar to the Mercedes C-Class. Exterior features include:

  • Blacked-out B-pillar helps achieve coupe look
  • Rear spoiler
  • Optional panoramic sunroof

Interior
The CC has chrome-finished gauges, unique door trim and radio/navigation buttons on the steering wheel. Front buckets and bucket-style seats in back give the CC seating capacity for four. • Simulated leather upholstery standard
  • Optional leather upholstery
  • Metal or wood trim
  • Optional navigation system
  • Optional touch-screen stereo
  • Optional analog clock
  • Optional dark wood trim

  • Don't waste your time OR money!!!

I've had 2 of these cars and I really wish that I would've done my homework PLUS have not been stupid enough to buy another one! Just like the other negative reviews, this car is beautiful, comfortable, and fast... IF you have the money to keep it running. Worse piece of crap I ever had. This was my only experience with Volkswagens and it has made me wary of all of them.

I have had to put over 6000$ into just keeping it running. It just hit 100k miles and now I have to spend 3800$ to fix the transmission.

  • Unique!

I bought a CC for the unique styling and classy look. Being one of the last VW models to still be made in Germany, the difference is very noticeable. People compare this to a Passat but there is really no comparison. Fit and finish and quality is almost to Audi quality. Highly recommend!

  • Gorgeous Money Pit

I purchased this car at 55,000 miles and it’s been nothing but problems. I’ve had it for only 20,000 miles and during that period the high AND low pressure fuel pumps failed, the water pump failed, and there’s a rear main seal leak. However with all that being said, I still absolutely love this car. It’s gorgeous and drives great (when there’s no problems of course). I would say if you’re looking for a reliable car, steer clear of this thing!! However if you want something cheap that’ll turn heads and don’t mind major repairs twice a year, go for it!

  • Beautiful, fun to drive, yet it lacks in quality

My 2012 Volkswagen CC, I think, is the best looking car I’ve ever owned. Volkswagen nailed the design of it and after 5 years of ownership I still stand back and admire the lines. Especially if you get the R line. It’s also fun to drive, the turbo motor, combined with the DSG, makes it a surprisingly quick car. It could use paddle shifters to complete the sporty experience for those with 2.0 turbo motors, but you can still shift with gear shifter in sport mode. Quality is hard to judge, I gave it 4 stars, because over 5 years and 50k miles of ownership I really can’t say it’s been unreliable. I’ve had to replace the plastic piece between the trunk lid and the back window (done under warranty), I’ve had to replace a ABS sensor twice (once under warranty, the other one I did myself), replaced spark plugs and coils (myself), had to replace the thermostat (cost around $300), and my rear passenger side tire pressure monitor keeps acting up, but it started after getting my tires replaced, so it could have been damaged by the tire shop. I may be forgetting something, but there hasn’t been anything major. I’ve only used premium fuel and synthetic oil, however, so you you should keep it in mind when choosing to buy a more luxury car such as this. There is some front suspension squeaking noise that I’ve had for a while, but it goes away once the car warms up. There is also a small wear-tear in my driver’s seat bottom cushion, but the seats and driving position is still one of the most comfortable I’ve ever had. And I’m a big guy (6’4”, 250lbs). Look for a 2-tone interior as they are some of the best looking interiors out there!

  • Great car for daily usuage.

This vehicle is above average from a performance perspective. Takes premium fuel, which can be costly if you have a road warrior. Sometimes has quirky electrical problems The vehicle is low to the ground, so you have to climb into it. Comparable to the Audi, but at a lower price.
