Nice car

Lots of leg room, quiet while driving especially for a diesel. I like the leather interior and look of the car. Fun to drive and I love the sun roof

Great Value!

I just bought a used 2014 Jetta and am very pleased. It drives very smooth. The pickup is not extremely quick, but I am ok with that (just be mindful if you are wanting a lot of "get up and go"). I live in Michigan and bought my Jetta in the winter the day before a massive snow storm- it handles quite well. I love the interior. Only down sides for me: no cruise control and no bluetooth. But those are things I was willing to compromise on for a safe and reliable car.

Best of the Jettas

I should start this review with that I've had three Mk6(2011-2018) Jettas, a 2011 SEL Manual, 2013 TDI Premium DSG and this review is over my 2014 Jetta GLI Autobahn(w/ Nav.) Manual. The '11-14 Jettas have some of the best stylings in their segment and have a wide range of trims for any buyer. The GLI Autobahn w/ Navigation is probably the top of the trims for these cars. It offers navigation, sunroof, heated and power 'leather' seats, Fender Audio, and automatic climate control. It feels solid inside and is fairly comfortable on long trips(although legroom may be tight for tall drivers). The stock power is plenty of pep to have fun on a back road, and if you opt for the fast-shifting DSG, you'll have a great car for an urban area. The manual option is easy to drive and feels good, although maybe not the greatest shifter feel for a performance car. The power is pretty good for a peppy commuter car that you may take to an AutoX or nice backcountry road, and if that is not enough there are many aftermarket options to make this car as fast as you'd like. I have done such modifications, such as an APR 'Stage 2' ECU Flash and aftermarket downpipe, intake and clutch. The only true downfall of the '11-18 Jetta is the interior quality versus its sister car, the GTI. To make the Jetta the most inexpensive car in the lineup, they use plastics that are not great to the touch. If you get past the plastics, the rest of the car is amazingly solid and great fun to drive and efficient enough to take on trips across the country. It says something that I've bought three of these cars in a row, and do not foresee getting rid of the current GLI. I have put about 50k miles on this car in just under 4 years, and have only had one issue with the car, which was covered under my warranty(Adaptive Headlight fault, not common). This is the ONLY issue I've had in a combined almost 200k miles I've put on the three Jettas. I suggest if you are buying one used, to be sure that the car has been cared for previously, and have the car get a pre-purchase inspection(PPI). Lack of maintenance will be the greatest cost in the ownership of these cars, especially with the DSG transmission.

GREAT little car!

Very reliable, pretty fuel-efficient car. Very roomy inside. Mechanically, it's awesome. It's a bit noisy when driving in the highway, but it makes up for that with very solid engineering. I sold it only because I wanted to upgrade to something a little more quiet.

Good Car, Great MPG but Not Reliable

I owned my 2014 for 3 years ... now (Jan 2018) at 62k miles I had to change ignition coil pack along w/ spark plugs and wires due to misfire. Our previous cars were all Japanese (Toyota) on which we never had to do any such major repairs even at 150k miles!
