2017 Volkswagen Passat consumer reviews

We purchased this new in 2017. We had an SE with tech package and LED lighting package. I loved this car. It got better then the epa sticker in both city and highway mpg. It has a massive trunk for our babies stroller and family things. We took it camping a few times and held our family of 3 ; things for a 4 day trip no problem with tent etc... The backseat is massive. I'm just over 6' tall and with the seat back in my driving position it still left loads of rear seat room behind me. Which was a big plus as this was always the family hualer. We had it for over 3 years and never had an issue with it at all. Just oil changes and air filter and cabin filter. Great car. Only reason we traded it in is because we got into riding dirt bikes. So we traded in for a VW Cross Sport. Otherwise I'd still have it.

The car mat all of my needs. I have two small children and there is plenty of legroom to relax in the front and the back. the car has lots of options that make it very comfortable to drive... the longer I drive it the more comfortable it gets. the exterior styling is superb, one of my favorite car designs is the Passat. everything about it is awesome. I would like to see a slightly larger engine in it.... but it is not a race car and fuel economy is good so I am content with the 1.8 turbo engine

I purchased the 1.8 SEL Premium and have been very pleased with the car for more than 2 years. It has all of the tech, safety, luxury features you could desire and far more than you should expect for a car in this price range. Ample room in the front seats, and the back seats are insanely roomy. Trunk is large, too. My only reservation in buying it was the small turbo-4, but it has performed admirably and gives me plenty of juice when needed, even at highway speeds.

I was excited when I got my brand new 2017 Passatt. Great look outside! What improvements I suggest: 1. Brakes. Afters 40 000 kmI had to change disks and pads, not covered by VW 2. Seats. For a long ride 2000 miles from Canada to Florida, was killing my back and legs, and all passengers complained about the seats 3. There is no usb port for the passengers in the back 4. There is no AC control in the back 5. No LED lights 6.Dificil to warm up the windshield in the winter

This car has been so fun to drive. We are really happy with our purchase. Sometimes a little scary to buy used but we had car checked out and all is good.

Brake pads are too soft. They grab too hard. Cannot ease up to tire bumper when parking. Was shown that tire(s) had dry rot after less than 3 years and 40,000 miles. Was told it was San Antonio heat. If that is the case, why does Toyota, Buick and other makes not have the same problem? I have drove them in San Antonio. Ancira VW must have run into this before because 3 people were quick to give the same answer. We are moving on, maybe back to Toyota or Buick. Oh, if you buy a car from Ancira VW you better hope you (especially if you are a woman) do not get the same finance person. Even the salesman told us to not rate him according to others I may talk to, while knowing only the Finance guy was next and no one else. He is still there as of 3/4/2020. Also, maintenance for VW is very high, which is why I would not recommend VW, although they give GREAT milage.

Perfect for me! The car handles well and is spacious for my wife and child. So far this is a solid vehicle and would definitely recommend it.

Great car. Can't afford the Audi, but I don't care. Love my VW and would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and fun ride.
