Bad Transmision History

I just lost a bunch of money on ths truck. Good bad transmission and you will see why. I barely had 50K on mine, so dont think you are safe if you have low mileage. People are trying to due a class action suit against Volvo. This is NOT reliable.

Best ever for the highway!

I've had my XC90 for a few years and i still can get over how well it performs, esp. on long drives. It is rock solid on the highway. I'm looking for another one for my daughter

LOVE THE XC90 - Get the T6

The most reliable, most attention grabbing car of all SAHM's. Beautiful design and excellent comfort. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

2004 VolvoXC90

This is a great sporty S.U.V!The warranty still could use a little help. But I would personally still recommend this vehicle to a friend.

Guess What...had to replace the transmission!

This vehicle has been in the shop a lot (steering, brakes, transmission).....love how it looks, but am beginning to think its safe because the repair shop has it most of the time! Would never try a volvo again. This has been the most expensive car to maintain that we have ever owned.

New transmission @ 48,000 miles!!

This car caught my eye from the very beginning - it's beautiful! But I've only had it for 4 months and have had the transmission go out, the turbo go out, and the starter replaced! BUY THE WARRANTY!! It was the smartest decision I ever made - the worst was buying this SUV. I have to keep it for the moment because I still owe more than it's worth, but it hasn't driven the same since the new tranny was installed and I will probably trade it in for something more reliable before my extended warranty expires. These are gorgeous vehicles, but Volvo just didn't get it quite right this first year of production... I also have the T6, which I found out after I bought it, that they were problematic to begin with. I also don't like that I only get an avg. 14MPG in mine - I could be driving my Suburban for that kind of mileage!

love/hate relationship

I love my XC90, except for the fact that it is in the shop more than it's out. Expect to go through brakes frequently. I am on my 5th set at 50,000 mi. Sadly, I am turning it in for a more reliable car.

Great looks but nagging service issues

We have a 2004 Volvo XC90T and while it is a great looking SUV and is very comfortable and decidedly safe inside -- and provides great sense of security in winter weather -- there are nagging issues with the power windows, front suspension, and poor OEM tires that wear out far too fast. We are really hoping Volvo improves the reliability in future models because it has great lines and appeal otherwise.

Bullit proof so far.

My wife wanted this car. We have 30,000 miles on 2.5T drivetrain on our 2004 XC90. Mechanical reliability has been excellent. For small displacement engine, mileage has been a little disappointing about 18 mpg in town and about 24 mpg on vacation trips. Vehicle is heavy however and very solid. We intend on keeping this vehicle for a long time and so far have been happy with overall quality, functionality and reliability. Has been great in the snow and on family ski trips.

Most Reliable and Great Looking Family Vehicle

I really didn't want to see the car go......It was reliable, safe, and handled like a champ! I buy a car every 2 years, that way I never encounter any major issues with a vehicle in our life together. This was the first time I have wanted to keep a vehicle longer. I actually hung onto it for an extra 6 months. Would absolutely recommend this car to a friend or family member! Five stars all the way.....
