On April 25th, 2018 we purchased a new Kona Limited front-wheel drive, red with black leather and the turbo engine with the 7-speed DCT transmission. This is a new model and few dealers have all the engine-transm combinationswith all the different colors. Before settling on the Kona I e-mailed five different dealers in the Sacramento, CA area, and the offers kept coming. The best quote came from Roseville Hyundai, at $ 24,000. I printed the manager's e mail (his name is Spencer Widmeyer) and just gave it to the sales associate as we walked in. His name is Ivan Contreras, super nice young man, highly recommended. They did honor the price without a single hiccup. The MSRP with floor mats and destination was $ 25,805. We paid the 24,000, and with the sales tax and DMV fees our out the door price came to $ 26,301. That is a $ 1,800 discount from the MSRP. No finance charges, it was a cash deal. The Roseville Hyundai dealership accepted a personal check from us, even after I offered to get a cashier's check; they said don't bother. What a great place to get a new car. We reset the trip computer before we left the dealership. It was an 83-mile trip back to Paradise. Coming home, some freeway and fast secondary roads, no traffic, speeds from 45-70 mph, the average mpg was shown 38.1 on the computer. As we got closer to home and began climbing the mountain, our average dropped to 36 mpg. I figure the real number must be closer to 33-34, but even that is a great number. The Kona turbo is a real blast to drive. Acceleration is about the same as our 2015 Santa Fe Sport turbo, but the steering, handling, overall resonsiveness and the small, nimble nature of the Kona was a pure joy. The only car I ever liked even more was the VW GTI we had in 2007. I think the GTI is the only competitor to the Kona in that price range. The Kona will do for Hyundai what the Soul did for Kia: fill the cash registers. Mike Gordon, Paradise CA 95969

At 34 years old, I finally decided it was time to finance a car. My credit score is low because I've never really used it, so I started at a small used car dealership. It was a terrible idea and I was told that as a first time car buyer even, I did not qualify for a $14,000 car. The used car "salesman" gave me no options except to say that I needed to find a car under $10,000 and showed almost no interest in trying to make anything work. I left immediately and went to Roseville Hyundai where they financed me for a brand new Elantra (which was $16,000), with the same down payment. They were able to keep my monthly payments exactly where I wanted them to be, and even included their best warranty, plus roadside assistance, both for 10 years. There was no mention of me not being qualified for financing. The manager Jason was very helpful and one of the other guys Joseph was amazing. He did everything he could to make us comfortable during the process, including going to the store to pickup whatever we wanted to drink, and pulling all the cars I wanted to test drive, up to the door, so I wouldn't have to be on the lot where it was cold. It was an amazing experience and I would recommend you start here when looking for a new car.

I went through Consumer Reports online option so that I could complete as much of my car search and negotiations at arm???s length. Having all the info in writing allows me to think logically, choose exactly what I need, and compare prices, values, and features. I get anxious heebee-geebees having to go up against a salesperson and decide about anything on the spot. When that happens, i always end up feeling that I???ve been bamboozled. Mostly the Consumer Reports ???True Car??? approach worked, with just a few hitches. The first big hitch is that when you sign up, you have to provide both a phone number and an email address. There is no way on the signup to indicate one???s preference for contact, or whether there is a problem with any form of contact. (For example, I???m a teacher, and it is absolutely not OK to call me during the school day, which almost all of them did.) So, within three minutes of clicking yes for quotes, my phone started ringing and dozens of emails began pouring in, sometimes from multiple agents at the same dealership. And since Consumer Reports sends the request to three different dealers, the bombardment is from three different dealerships. It???s awful. But once I reached the callers and told them to STOP CALLING and reach me only by email, the calls slowed down. The second hitch is that once my butt was in the chair for the paperwork, they came at me with unexpected offers of all kinds of extended this and that policies, special protective treatments for the paint (I kept remembering the ???True Coat??? scene in the movie ???Fargo,??? and felt a mixture of irritation and amusement. Classic car-dealership sleaze moves.) If I had known this crap was coming, I would have refused to sit down with the paperwork guys until this information had been given to me in writing so that I could go home and read it, research it, and make a cool, dispassionate, logical decision. I ended up being talked into a $3,200 service/protection plan (???only $50 a month for five years, and you get eight years of coverage!!!), and ended up angry with them and myself. Went back a few days later to deliver my final check after receiving my outside financing, and told the finance guy how annoyed I was with that add-on. He was a bit defensive at first, but then switched tactics: of course I could decline the add-on, but I???d have to wait to have it refunded by Toyota finance. WHAT? I didn???t even take Toyota finance! No luck getting him to understand how offensive it was to have them move ahead with Toyota finance when we had an agreement that I was not taking Toyota finance, and had seven days to secure my own. Whatever. I was going to have to wait for refund of the $3,200. Then they guy came at it again; I could get this policy for $1,000 less (???our employee and family discount price???)! He talked me into that. I think ??? think, not believe totally ??? that the protection plan is reasonably helpful, given all the sophisticated electronics in my vehicle. But I???m still walking around with deep resentment of the process. In the end, I got a good car with the features I wanted, at an OK price, explained well by the internet salesmen with whom I worked. I was treated respectfully, which is important to me as a woman buying on my own. But next time I???ll work hard to head off the last-minute crud at the end, and demand to have all that info in writing before I even poke my head into the office of the bookkeeping/finance guys.

My husband told me about Carvana from a commercial ad he heard/saw. I laughed about it and said 'yah right, there's gotta be a hitch somewhere'. A few weeks later, he brought up Carvana again....curious, I decided to check it out online. The key words there was 'check it out'. I ended up buying a vehicle a couple hours later. Yeup, it was just like that. No hassle, no hidden costs or agendas. So after reviewing everything on the site, I started looking at minivans....I started falling in love with minivans....I started buying minivans....all through carvana. Once I locked in the one I wanted, I went through the credit process, documentation process, and pick up date (I chose pick up - because at this point, I still felt a little 'leary' about the whole deal'. It was so simple, and so honest, and so real. Over the course of the next 24 hours, all my submitted documents were approved and we just had two days to go to pick up the new mininvan. When we got to the store, it's not like a dealership with a lot, but it had three beautiful, well lit, very clean, showroom like bays that your vehicle is sitting in for your to do a complete inspection of it. It was very classy. Please note, our particular location does not have the car vending machine just yet. After passing our over check, I hopped in the car and drove it 65 miles home. She ran like a charm and I knew I had 7 days to decide if I wanted to keep her not. At day 3, although I loved her, she didn't have all the bells and whistles I truly wanted so that evening, I was back on the Carvana site, shopping for a replacement minivan....it's so easy to do when it gives you results based on your financial settings....I found the new 'her' a few hours later. I ordered her up and made the quick call explaining I was swapping and chose to have the vehicle delivered instead of going there to save time. The whole swap process took 2 days...they pulled up right to my house with my next new minivan. In my eyes, she was perfect, but I found a flaw before she was even off the truck. There was a huge bolt in the back tire. I was so disappointed. But Carvana took care of that so amazingly over the top.....they still brought her off the truck so I can check out the interior, test drive it, etc. We found a few more things that we felt should be fixed...minor things. Carvana took note of the items, and took the vehicle back on the truck but promised me (because I really wanted her that day) they would bring her back with a new tire....they kept their promise, three hours later she was back with a brand new tire, not one, but TWO brand new back tires. And they put an extra Carvana cup in the car for me. They swapped the minivans and off the old one went and there I sat with the new one. Smile ear to ear. I worked with Carvana on 6 items that we believed needed repair before committing to keep the vehicle. Carvana went above and beyond. I got an estimate for the repairs at a local shop, Carvana approved it, and within a few weeks, all repairs were completed through Carvana and I have the perfect vehicle, no hassle, no hidden agendas. And every person I dealt with on the phone or in person were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, AND JUST THE BEST!! My Carvana experience was the absolute best. I will never go back to buying a car the old 'car dealership' way. And ironically, we had bought our other vehicle from a dealership just 3 months before being introduced to Carvana. I will give one warning about buying a vehicle through Carvana this way....it can be addicting..lol :-) Yes, I still shop Carvana cars every now and then....I don't even need a car, I just love seeing what Carvana has because it was sooo simple :-) Thank you Carvana for a trememdously wonderful experience.

Hyundai has fallen short on the Corporate end. I have purchased 4 Hyundai's in the last 3 years and this will be probably my last. We bought the car on May 7th. We were offered full value for a 2013 BMW X3 trade in. That car sold on the lot the next weekend, it was in fantastic shape. We were told that our 2016 Santa Fe Lease Financed on May 13th. We were also told that is when the check is processed and sent to our Bank (lien Holder of our trade-in BMW) around the same time. I check with Kajen Jackson Finance Manager at Roseville Hyundai on May 23rd. He assured me it would be paid off by the end of the month. Well it is now 22 Business Days since the the lease of our new hyundai, you have sold our trade-in and we still have a loan balance and a payment due June 15th on the BM. I called Kajen today who stated he sent a message first thing this morning to corporate to track the pay-off check. By close of business day today I called Kajen again and stated he sent 2 more emails to corporate and no one has responded to his email. Maybe their short staffed or busy on a Monday processing loans was his answer. Bad communication, Bad customer service, a complete fail in my opinion. Even the Finance Manager Kajen said he thought it was taking a little longer then normal. A sales team can work their tails off and corporate can kill the loyality of a 4 time customer with no follow thru... Sad because it is a great car and product.

My sister had purchased a car at Roseville Hyundai in 2012 and I was in the market to replace my 2001 Ford Focus. I wanted a compact SUV (Tuscon, RAV4, CR-V, etc.) and after looking around/test-driving my top options, I couldn't find a better deal than the Tuscon offered at Roseville. Ivan was my main point of contact and he was extremely professional, gave me all the information I requested, and was patient as we discussed pricing/purchase. I never felt pressured from anyone at Roseville and they were very amiable even when negotiating the final price/package. Car buying can be one of the most frustrating and draining things anyone can do (between negotiating, time, stress) but it helps to find the right dealer and to know that you have all the power. You're buying the car and nobody else. The people I met at Roseville Hyundai remained professional, gave me my time and space when I asked for it, and helped to make the experience at least tolerable. Do your own serious research on the car you want and the dealerships you're looking at but I would definitely recommend to include Roseville Hyundai on your list.

I test drove 5 different car makers' hybrids. The 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid was an easy "top choice". Its quality, features, and warranties are every bit as good as (and in many aspects superior to) the other 4 car brands I test drove. In addition, dealing with Sacramento Hyundai was a relatively painless process. I was able to deal with one individual (J.J. Jones) from my first visit all the way through to delivery of my new car. I did not know J.J. Jones prior to my first visit at the dealership. He was knowledgeable and patient; never pushy or aggressive. At the other 4 car dealers, after my test drive I asked "what purchase incentives are you offering". Immediately, the initial salesperson brought another staff member to me. It generally was an aggressive, pushy sales manager. Dealing with Sacramento Hyundai and J.J. Jones was straightforward.

I have owned this car for two months and I am pleasantly surprised. I am a pre-retirement age and I needed to move to a bigger, more comfortable car for both commuting and long-distance (750+ miles) driving. A Hyundai car was a no-brainer for me because of reliability and 5-yr 60K miles warranty. So far we owned two Elantras, a Sonata, and a Tucson. Other than normal 5K mile maintenance, I don't think ALL of them together were repaired more than 5-6 times during a 10-yr time period. I chose a standard SE AWD model. For me it is sufficiently equipped and has impressive safety features. I need an AWD version since I drive in a hilly terrain and also in some snowy areas of the Midwest. Negatives first: I was disappointed when I found the car did not have a CD player. My car doesn't come with a satellite radio either. My 2008 Sonata GLS and the standard Elantra had both. However, I managed to solve both problems. Since I had Sirius XM subscription in my traded in Sonata Sirius sent me a free portable XM radio which connects through an AUX jack. I also bought an AIS car CD player for $199 which powers on and connects through one of the front USB ports. They connect to the car radio system and I can easily switch between radio, CD, and XM with one push of a button. I fit them easily into the front console box and secured them by weatherstripping foam so they look like they are a part of the dashboard. The second negative is the automatic engine Stop/Start system. It works as it pleases. Sometimes it shuts the engine immediately upon stop for a second or two but another time keeps it idling for 1-2 minutes at a long red light. The positives are interior space and very comfortable front seats and lots passenger space in the rear. Four USB ports and integrated radio, CD, XM, Android, and phone Bluetooth systems are fun to use. Under the floor rear storage spaces are very handy and I use them often. Rear seats can be reclined which is great. Rear folded seats provide 76 inch of loading space which is nothing to complain about. The 185 HP 2.4L engine provides adequate power although acceleration is rather sluggish. I was pleasantly surprised with gas mileage. 90% of my driving are short 5-10 mile commuting distances. My average mileage so far is 26-27 MPG. Occasional highway driving yields about 31-33 MPG. This is a heavier car yet it's more fuel efficient than Sonata. Large fuel tank allows for up 500+ mile range. My first long-distance test will happen later this month when I plan to drive a 2500 mile stretch across the South and Midwest.

Rachel was an extremely thorough and knowledgeable salesperson. We bought this car based on our interaction with her. She answered all questions we had and located the correct color car we wanted with the options we wanted. All of the high reviews we give are based on our interactions with her. The business manager who processed our paperwork was also very professional. We did not care for the sales manager, Steve, who did not listen to our needs, pestering us again and again about leasing, even though we told him we wanted to buy the car outright. Then, he quoted us the WRONG price, because he figured the numbers based on a LEASE, which we never wanted! If it wasn't for Rachel, who smoothed things over with us after the bait and switch incorrect pricing from Steve, we would have left and not purchased this car. Maybe some people enjoy that "good ol' boy" 1960s alpha-male sales approach, but we did not.

I've always (until recently) been an "American car guy." However, I love our new Santa Fe Ultimate. The 2019 exterior re-design is much more "macho" than the previous design, interior is much nicer also. Priced $$$ less than competitive models, and Hyundai doesn't kill you with $ thousands in add ons... just buy the trim you like and nearly everything is already included, all we had to add on were mud flaps and cargo tray, so no "hidden costs." Warranty is phenomenal. Comfort is phenomenal, love the driver memory features for the seat/mirrors. Doesn't handle like my last car (2010 Shelby) but the 2.0T is peppy. As review noted a bit of turbo lag but doesn't bother me... you'd never know it was a 2 liter! Ride quality if excellent and cabin is very stylish (at least on the Ultimate). Love the 2-tone leather seating/interior (ours is a taupe brown and gray). The safety features are phenomenal, as are the LED lights, smart cruise control, 360 camera, 12 speaker system, iridescent interior/dash lights, air conditioned seats, industry-leading tech (Apple and Android car play), heads up display, etc etc. Can't say for the lower level models (noting they also come with all the safety features/lane change warning/pedestrian sensor, etc), but we love the Ultimate. Gas mileage not great with the turbo, but we do mostly city driving so 22-23 is not bad for a mid-size SUV. We're in Hawaii so no need for AWD, so we got the FWD version. Bottom line with the Ultimate you'd never know you're driving a Hyundai vice a Lexus, they've really kicked up their game and for thousands less than Honda, Toyota, Ford, etc... and best warranty in the industry. Also a Top Safety Pick +.

The other night my husband and I decided to find a used car for me. My 2002 Honda Civic had just died (again), so it was kind of a necessity. We met Solomon Bartkovsky and he made a list of used cars that fit my budget. We test drove a really cute white Veloster and I was sold on it but when we went back into the showroom, the beautiful new red Veloster was just too enticing. Solomon showed us the car and was very courteous and knowledgeable. We decided to get the new car and I couldn???t be happier! Overall, the experience was just perfect! We would definitely come back and ask for Solomon or tell our family and friends to check out Folsom Lake Hyundai if ever there is a need for help in finding a car.

I have driven Subaru Outbacks but needed a larger vehicle with good power but also good fuel economy. My Santa Fe fits the bill. The V6 gets 28-30 mpg highway driving (except winter in MN). It's roomy and the back seats fold down easily when I need room for biking, camping or kayaking. I can also pull a boat or utility trailer with ease.

Upgraded from a 2015 CRV and after test-driving a 2019 CRV. Better cargo space, more comfortable design for the driver, larger passenger seats. Only slight disappointments are the under-powered engine and the inconsistent cruise control (even without the car length setting engaged). It's only been 1 month of ownership, but it's been fun!
