I have dealt with all the Subaru dealerships in Delaware and Delmar over the last 3 years - either buying and/or having my car serviced. When I decided to buy a new car, I was actually looking at Mazdas (a BIG departure since I have only ever bought Subaru cars). I visited CarMax in Salisbury on a Saturday evening to get an appraisal for my car, then went to dinner. Over dinner, I talked about how I should at least look at the Subarus. I decided to call Gateway Subaru to see when they closed for the night. I spoke to Lance Culver who said they would be closing in about 20 minutes. I told him I didn't think we could make it but I might drop by. About 25+ minutes later, I figured I would just drive by and look at the cars on the lot, but Lance was still there. He happily showed me several cars, gave me his card, some brochures, and told me to call anytime if I had any questions or wanted to test drive a car (I only sat in the cars, as it was getting late and I had to go). I set up my Mazda test drive and then called Lance to set up a test drive for a Subaru too. These test drives were both based on really good prices I got from both dealerships. I drove the Mazda 3 (both the sedan and hatchback) and the CX-3. I originally was looking at the Subaru Impreza sedan and hatchback, but then I looked at the Legacy and figured out it was more in line with the fully loaded Forester I was going to be trading in, so that is what I drove. I fell in love with the car, and Lance made sure that I got everything I wanted, at a price I could manage. His manager (Wendy Schiavone), was incredible too. She fully supported Lance in ensuring that I was a happy camper and personally made sure that I got the car I wanted (one that she drives, by the way). I look forward to having my car serviced at Gateway too (if you buy a maintenance package with the car, your maintenance costs will be covered and you won't have to pay MD tax - a benefit to a DE resident ;^) Go visit Gateway and you won't be disappointed - great cars and great staff!
I saw the Ford Focus Electric online and thus started my new car journey which led me to requesting an online quote. I was immediately contacted by Bill Woods who offered any assistance that I may need. I put a lot of mileage on my vehicles due to my working and hour from home so trade in value and lost equity were big concerns for me. I saw the Chevy Volt on their website and thought that may be a better alternative even though I love my Fords. I was not interested in a hybrid and the car has to be visually appealing as well as energy and gas efficient. So several emails later after giving Bill my current vehicle stats, trade in estimate, lean payoff and my list of demands that would have to happen to make me purchase a new vehicle, we scheduled an appointment that Friday. Having a very realistic picture of where I was at in my current vehicle and then trying to purchase a new vehicle I went in with a casual "this probably won't happen" attitude. We drove the Volt and I was hooked so we started the process of trade in appraisal, bank financing and negotiating. Bill was running around checking on things and checking with finance and keeping me in the loop of every detail of the process. He was more excited at one point more than I was and told me he was confident the team would make it happen for me. After an exhausting fight I am sure for the finance team, Bill came back with a deal that was too perfect not to take so I took the deal. I almost hugged him. So Bill made all the arrangements with insurance, getting the car prepared and even went out to educate himself on my new electric car. The final loan paperwork and warranty review was a breeze and I got everything I wanted at the monthly payment I needed and I am an extremely happy camper thanks to Bill and the Preston Team.

For someone who doesn???t like the haggling of numbers and the BS that come with shopping for a car this is the place to go. From the time I walked onto the lot , to 4 days later when driving home a new outback. After test driving the outback, they gave me a price with trade in, added in tax , tags and gave me a total price. I let Shawn know I had narrowed down my choices to the outback and another vehicle and I had planned to test drive the next day. There was no high pressure sales to get me to buy now. The next day going to test drive at the other dealership I got all the BS and haggling and moving numbers around and trying not to let me leave without purchasing the vehicle that day.Called Shawn the following day told him what I needed to drive the outback home that day, he told me to hold, about 30 seconds later gave me what I wanted.I stopped by there about 1:50 and was driving home in new outback at 3:30. Zach Nagler was also great to work with, he let me know the options but never tried to over sell me on anything. Just an all around great place to buy a car and will definitely come back to buy a car there and will spread the word! Shawn Edler was an awesome salesman, answered all my questions , took care of everything I wanted and was very professional.
The safety features of this car have saved lives and thousand of dollars of accidental damage. Eyesight is amazing. The buying experience was great. The dealer we dealt with was one of the best I have ever visited.
I walked into the dealership and was helped immediately by the staff. Jim Stein helped me through the entire sale process (I traded my first car in for a 2017 Subaru Outback). I was completely new to the car-buying experience, but Jim took his time to let me test drive the car, show me it's features and answer all my questions (even though the dealership was officially closed for the night by this time). He and Zach Nagler were SUPER helpful with my car-buying/financing needs. I would recommend them both any time to my friends and family. They made my first trade an enjoyable experience. I can't say I have seen service like that at a dealership in my life. Good job, Jim and Zach!
14,000 miles so far and no problems. It handles and rides really good goes anywhere in snow , great gas mileage just a good all around car . Its perfect for road trips around town or anything in between. Its power is better than what most people say about it being slow, its no race car but it gets up and goes pretty well.
Our 2011 Outback was totaled in an accident. We wanted to replace our 2011 with a new 2016 3.6 Outback with all the new safety features. We live in central NJ and soon found out that a 3.6 is hard to find. Buying a car in a hurry is very stressful! We missed out on a car at a dealership closer to us, but through exhaustive Internet search, we found a match at Gateway, which is 3.5 hours from our home. Jim Stein, our sales rep, plus the Gateway's management team (Brian and Renee) honored the quote from the other dealership and expedited the purchase via phone and email. They were very efficient and very pleasant to work with. We are extremely satisfied with our experience. If we lived closer, there is no doubt we would service our car there. Who knows? We might get rid of our Audi and come back to Gateway in the future!

Lacks comfort

The Subaru Crossover is a nice looking car with a beautiful leather interior. It has all the gadgets and being a Subaru you know it will last a lifetime. I love everything about it except it is not a comfortable ride. I cannot drive for long distances. Compared to my Rubicon it gets a one star for being a comfortable ride. Other than that, compared to all the other Crosstreks it is the best by far.
