New car 9/2017: odometer now at 65000 miles. No issues at all since new. Fuelly.com calculates 40.5 MPG in 30/70 highway/city driving. 5 speed manual transmission has excellent synchros - and with a very light clutch engagement plus short throw gear changes - this 2017 1.4 turbo is fun to drive.

This car has guts an a really fast transmission I’m talking just the 1.4 tsi I have the se version with heated seated heated mirrors an windows blind spot monitoring it’s more than comfortable an has plenty of both leg an head room ,it makes for a great family car or if your like me no kids but 4 dogs the dogs actually all fit back there comfortably for only 150 hp this car is snappy I got about 7.5 0 to 60 using premium gasoline but not nessasary I feel the car feels a lot better with 91 gas reguardless this car is a lot of fun especially on the twistys 8.5 out 10

Late summer 2017 VW factory and dealer discounts made this 2017 Jetta "S" 1.4L turbo 5M available for $14337 out the door. After about 45,000 miles I've been trouble free - not one issue. Fuelly has me just under 41 MPG in 60 City/40 Hwy use The little turbo accelerates well and complements the easy shifting 5 speed manual - aided by smooth synchros which permit easy shifting.
