This was the best SUV until the check engine light came
This was the best SUV until the check engine light came on. I purchased the 2017 in 2020 with 19k miles. Since owning it I have loved it, smooth ride, great on gas, plenty of room for hauling dogs and produce. It's currently at 68k miles in 2025 and it needs a new small engine block. Apparently there is a KNOWN issue without a recall on the 1.5 L engines where the coolant leeks into the cylinders( 3rd cylinder for mine) causing the sparkplug to misfire. I am still paying for this car and have talked to Ford numerous times about this as well as trying to join the class action lawsuit, but sadly my state doesn't participate in that lawsuit. I honestly loved this car, but without the financial means to cover the engine rebuild and not having a guarantee it wont have the same issues, we have decided to trade it in.

Numeros mechanical problems early on fortunately I did purchase an extended warranty on a new vehicle that kept me covered but it just recently ran out and I'm faced with major repairs on a low mileage 7year old vehicle one owner. I would say buyer beware.
