Poorly made
I have owned a Toyota Corolla, a Honda Civic and a Volkswagen Jetta. Of the three cars, the Jetta had the most problems. The oil dipstick holder cracked (because it's made of plastic or something cheap like that!). I had to get the water pump replaced because it wasn't spraying my windshield. The electrical motherboard had to be replaced because my turn signals weren't working. The compressor to my air conditioner broke and had to be replaced--along with the dryer and expansion valves. And to top all that off--the fabric on the ceiling of my car came unglued, which made it look "caved-in." I highly do NOT recommend anyone to buy a Volkswagen--especially a Jetta. It's so cheaply made and the repair work is expensive. Also--it only comes with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty (unlike a 10-year manufacturer's warranty I got with Honda.)

Y 2013 VW Jetta S has 95k miles. The oil pan is leaking. It was plugged once and must be replaced. Est $500 to $800. And clear water is leaking just to side and rear of oil leak.

Nice car
Never owned a diesel, but very easy to get accustomed to. The Jetta is very comfortable and gets great gas mileage 45mpg. Jetta also has performance if you need or want it. Overall this car has turned me into a VW enthusiast.
