We purchased our 2013 Ford Edge SEL, equipped with the 3.
We purchased our 2013 Ford Edge SEL, equipped with the 3.5l V6 engine, in Jan. of 2022 with 66,930 miles. What individuals considering purchasing a used Ford Edge with a 6 cylinder engine, I don't know much about the four cylinder equipped Edges, is that maintenance is ESSENTIAL. These vehicles require proper maintenance to achieve longevity. Fluid changes in proper intervals are the most essential aspect of maintenance for proper running. What we've had to deal with: AC quit blowing cold in the middle of July 7 months after purchase. I replaced the blender door actuator, EASY to install, but it was a SOFTWARE UPDATE ISSUE. Fix cost: $155.00. Two years later a shudder began. I changed the spark plugs and rear coil BOOTS, with no avail. I then added a transmission friction lubricator additive, the symptoms drastically reduced. I then had a flush performed at 76K miles. Fix Cost: plugs, boots, flush, and lubricator $262.00. The same year the windshield wipers wouldn't quit running. I replaced the windshield wiper switch, EASY. Fix Cost: $70.00. A year later I was told the outer tie rod needed replacing. I replaced the inner and outer tie rod myself. Easy fix. Fix cost: $300.00 (alignment included). The car now has 86,300 miles and I will be replacing the struts and shocks and having a coolant change performed early next year. Estimated cost: $450.00. Once these maintenance items are completed, the coolant and transmission fluids should be good for 50K miles, and the suspension for 50k-100k miles. The maintenance should prevent major mechanical problems, and it is not outrageously costly, but it is something to be aware of!

We had our 2013 Ford edge for many years had zero problems with it until a stupid driver parked next to my husband and totaled the car. He wasn’t even in the car but until then it never gave us any trouble. We decided we would buy another ford edge which is a 2018 and beautiful. Hopefully we’ll have the same luck with this one.
