I was test driving a Toyota at the dealership and when I came the next day to buy it, it was "sold." My salesman recommended the 2018 Renegade he had with 46000 miles on it and was for sale for only $10k. I test drove it hesitantly as I am not a Jeep person. It appeared to be a smooth ride considering we were only able to ride around the neighborhood surrounding the dealership going slow speed. My Honda had been totaled 2 weeks previously when someone hit me so I needed a car and was tired of Uber. I bought the Renegade and it was immediately so hot in it and I cranked the air up all the way but it made the ride sooooo loud. No air gets to the back seat and I mean none at all. I have a 3 year old that sits in the back and was dripping sweat anytime we got out of the car. I tried to sit in the back to see and there is nothing coming to the back. No vents face that way and the front do not blow any air towards the back. Went to a dealership and was told to order a fan from Amazon that would sit on the headrest and blow towards my son in the back. I work remote and my son does not go to daycare so the Jeep is hardly driven. It needs gas every 3 days for never being driven. I got the first oil change yesterday and it's already down 25%. It feels so unsafe and rough to drive that I order delivery for food, use Uber Eats, and have purchased train tickets to go to South Florida when I've been driving it for 30 years. I've owned the Jeep for 5 weeks and I'm ready to trade it in for something else in 2 months when I move to my new place. If trade won't work as it's still considered a new purchase, believe me, the car will be turned back into the finance company as a voluntary repo. I'd rather take the credit hit than risk my son's safety in the car.

Took the Renegade to the Jeep dealer. The waterpump was making noise and has excessive blow by. They replaced the waterpump works great. They said for the blowby that I have to replace the valve and oil pan covers then wants to do the oil dipstick dance. The work has to be done by a shop. The oil change by them. The excessive blow by is whats causing the oil to be pushed out of the gaskets. I'll just have oil over the engine again when I steam clean it. Where to from here? 2.4L 2018 Renegade Lattitude.The 2018 uses to much oil and has a recall on it. They want a "shop" to do the gaskets and them for the oil change. I've been changing the oil at 5K and it's pretty clean. In between the 1500-1700 miles I'll use 2 quarts and 4-5 in the 5K. Castrol Edge 5w20 is what I use. The oil pickup tube cracks on this year so oil starvation, hence the blowby. I spent 3K for them to change the waterpump, alternator, belt and battery. I'm not to mobile at 63, but if I knew it was going to be so much for labor I would have done it. One has to figure a shop charges $150-250 an hour though.

This is the WORST VEHICLE I ever had. It's always been in the shop since I got it. I spend more money getting it fixed than to actually driving it. Do not get this car. It loves problems. I guarantee you.
