I loved my equinox for about two years. Great family car and comfortable but the oil consumption is ridiculous. I had to start adding more and more between changes. I just changed the oil two weeks ago. Only drove it maybe 150 miles, completely empty today. Never buying another equinox again.

Got this car in 2022, it looked pretty neat and the interior was nice, had around 150k miles when I bought it. The next day a check engine light popped up and it needed a catalytic converter. Got that replaced and then the timing belt needed to be replaced. After all of that, found out that the underbody had a lot of rust and couldn't even pass inspections, waste of money and resources, should have did my research.

The salesman talked me into how much I would like it. I wanted to think about it overnight; I would have checked the reviews online. He said by waiting it would probably be gone. So, after maybe three months I started having oil problems. My SUV would start smoking, and I would have to pull over and wait for it to stop before it would start up again. I ended up having to carry a couple of gallon containers of oil in my car because this happened all the time. After about 10 months I traded it in for $4,000 after having paid $11,000 for it. They knew there was a real oil problem with this model, but they continued to sell them. Unfortunately, after I traded my Equinox, I read the reviews on the 2010 model, and there was page after page of complaints of oil problem complaints. So, had I waited a day, I definitely wouldn't have purchased this SUV. I have since talked to people who have had the same problem with their Equinox. It makes me sick when I still see this year model for sale.
