Let me add to the engine problems.
Let me add to the engine problems. Overall I really like this vehicle. We have taken many trips and enjoy the feel on the road. Maintenance has not been a major issue until recently. It started using oil on a regular basis. About a quart every two to three weeks. At around 92k miles it is now in the shop waiting to see if Hyundai will honor their warranty. It needs a new engine. It runs ok now, for a sewing machine. Hopefully Hyundai will honor their warranty and I can get another 90k miles out of the vehicle.

At 84k miles the motor & turbo gave out.
At 84k miles the motor & turbo gave out. Because I bought it used it wasn’t covered under warranty and cost me $10k to fix. As I’ve done more research now I’m seeing this is a common issues unfortunately.

Worst car I've ever owned.
Worst car I've ever owned. Bought used with low mileage and was fine for about 6 months, then had to replace the timing chain and a bunch of parts. Then it started running badly and burning oil. Hyundai charged a bunch of money to do a combustion change and made me come back every 1000 miles and took thousands of dollars in repair and gave us a run around and wanted to charge to do it again. It stopped running in the middle of the road the day before my teens and friends were to take it to the beach. Traded it in immediately losing a lot of money. Spend more for a Toyota.
