Hi, I'm Kelsey Mays for cars.com. We're at the LA auto show with the 2009 Lincoln MKS. In on our other video, we take you through some of the MKS's interior and exterior features. Now I'm going to show you some of the technology.
First step is the latest version of Ford's keypad. A lot of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles have had this for years, but the MKS takes it one step further, and this is a heat sensor. So all you have to do is pass your finger over it. The numbers light up and you can type in your personal identification number to get into the car. And with navigation system, if you pay for Sirius satellite radio, you'll get a number of other features. One is that you can go through and find a nearest movie theater, and it'll show you what the listings are of the actual movies. Another feature actually allows you to see the gas prices of gas at nearby stations. It'll show you the prices for the last day or two days or three days. And if the prices aren't available, it'll still display the station as well. It can show the nearest station or the station nearby with the lowest price. A third feature allows you to track scores of your favorite sports teams. And finally, there's even weather reports for the next four or five days out. Now this system is pretty well integrated, but it's not perfect yet. You've probably seen commercials for Ford Sync System, which allows you to say things like find the Red Hot Chili Peppers on my iPod. Unfortunately you can't say to this system yet, find the cheapest gas station. It's not going to pop up quite yet. You also can't just press the number in and call the gas station or movie theater to buy some tickets quite yet. Ford says all that stuff is probably coming down the road. And once it does, the system will be one of the best in the market we think. <v Speaker>For additional information on this car or any other go to cars.com and our blog kickingtires.
