(car engine revving) Mazda has completely redesigned its popular compact SUV, the CX-5. And there's a lot that stands out here. We'll start out with the nose here.
Very, very vertical nose, looks a lot like the nose actually on the larger CX-9, check out this sort of metallic bar, stretches all the way out into the headlights here. You see these Led rings that are flanked by these sort of pencil thin bars. That's a theme we've also seen on various other Mazda models. You get around the side here, a very clean side, and around back, the tail lights. Again, similar themes to what we've seen on the MX-5 Miata, the CX-3, again, a circular theme here with sort of these pencil bars of LEDs kinda stretching out alongside it. Overall size, about the same as the outgoing CX-5. A big progression over the outgoing CX-5's interior. This screen here actually perches over the center part of the dashboard and it's usable via touchscreen or these controls down here. This knob controller down here, kind of gives you a good functionality if you wanna use the one or the other. I gotta say, Kevin materials in this car here at the auto show are just stunning. I mean, this is, this is really, really nice stuff in terms of what you typically get in a compact SUV. Things like padding with stitching here long where your knees fall, even fabric down the eight pillars, a consistency between the front and the rear doors and features just features that you don't often find in a compact non-luxury SUV. Things like a power passenger seat with a power height adjustment, just very cool best part Mazda didn't really lose much utility in the process. Still a very nifty 40, 20, 40 split folding seat. You can fold everything down from the cargo area, including the center part of the seat, the left part, the right's part. There's all these releases back here. It's very cool utility story, excited to drive this car. Once it goes on sale gasoline or diesel versions available, all of that starts hitting dealerships in spring of 2017. So stay tuned for more.
