Cars.com readers had end-of-summer car shopping on their minds last week, making our roundup of Labor Day deals the week’s most popular story. Those deals are history now, but if missed your chance or couldn’t find what you wanted, we’re here to help. Check back next week when we detail the best deals for September.
Close behind holiday car deals was our roundup of July’s biggest news stories for the month. Left-brain rationality overtook right-brain emotion in that list: Our first look of the stunning 2020 Chevrolet Corvette, complete with lots of eye-candy images, drew plenty of readers but took a backseat to recalls for the popular Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 SUVs. Sadly, even a mid-engine new ’Vette with a 3-second zero-to-60-mph time can’t dethrone some SUV news these days.
More evidence of SUV dominance: Another recall was the past week’s third most-popular story, with Kia recalling virtually every one of its all-new 2020 Telluride three-row haulers to check and possibly replace seat belt assemblies. And another humble SUV, the uber-practical Subaru Forester, showed star power to finish fourth with a rundown of its features updates and pricing for 2020.
Rounding out the remainder of the top 10 were four more SUV stories among the last six spots, including a video of our judges explaining their comparison-test pick for best mid-size SUV of 2019. Here’s the full list of the top 10 biggest news stories among Cars.com readers in the past week:
