To get the agency’s top score, the new version of the high-selling compact SUV repeated the 2016 CR-V‘s top good ratings in all five IIHS crashworthiness tests (small and moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints and seats). The optional front collision system with automatic braking also got the required superior rating.
The 2017 CR-V earned the Top Safety Pick Plus designation with an acceptable rating in the tough new IIHS headlight testing for the LED headlights used on the Touring trim. The headlights on lower trims earned a marginal score.
