2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E Gets Heat Pump, Optional Sport Appearance Package

After launching the Rally variant and upgrading to a more powerful rear motor for the 2024 model year, Ford is sticking to minor tweaks for the electric 2025 Mustang Mach-E SUV. A heat pump, which is more efficient at managing cabin temperatures than traditional climate systems, is now standard, and the gear shifter is moving from the center console to the steering column to open up the front of the cabin. Three new paint colors and wheel choices are available, as well, expanding personalization options.

Additionally, the mid-level Premium trim gains standard ventilated front seats for 2025, as well as an optional Sport Appearance Package. The latter adds design cues from the powerful GT trim, including its front bumper, grille, black 19-inch wheels and lower-body trim, and red Brembo front-brake calipers. The Sport Appearance pack also spruces up the interior with the GT’s red accent stitching and sport pedals.

BlueCruise 1.5

The latest version of Ford’s hands-free highway-driving tech, BlueCruise 1.5, debuts on the 2025 Mach-E. BlueCruise 1.2 added hands-free lane changes in response to the driver activating a turn signal, but 1.5 no longer needs the driver to indicate their desire. With Automatic Lane Change, Ford says the Mach-E will “initiate a lane change if the vehicle ahead is slower than the set speed or if a vehicle is following too closely in the passing lane.” In other words, it prevents self-driving Mach-Es from left-lane squatting, but only if they’re being tailgated.

All 2025 Mach-E buyers can opt for a 90-day free trial of BlueCruise, after which it costs $49.99 per month or $495 per year. Buyers can also commit to the tech in perpetuity at purchase for a one-time fee of $2,495.

Powertrain Specs and Range

The Mach-E will again be available with a single electric motor on the rear axle for rear-wheel drive or front and rear motors for all-wheel drive. Only offered on the entry-level Select and step-up Premium trim levels, the RWD version produces 264 horsepower and 387 pounds-feet of torque with the standard battery pack or 290 hp and the same 387 pounds-feet with the extended-range battery available on the Premium. With the standard-range pack, AWD Mach-Es put out 325 hp and 500 pounds-feet, while the extended-range pack bumps horsepower up to 365 (torque remains the same). For the 2024 model, range with the standard battery was an EPA-estimated 250 miles with RWD and 230 miles with AWD; the extended-range pack was good for 320 miles with RWD and 300 miles with AWD (official EPA ratings for the 2025 model are not yet available).

The Mustang Mach-E GT and dirt-road-oriented Rally are only available with the extended-range pack and AWD. The GT’s motors generate a total of 480 hp and 600 pounds-feet of torque, while an available Performance Upgrade boosts torque to 700 pounds-feet. (The Performance Upgrade is standard on the Rally.) Range for the 2024 GT was EPA-estimated at 280 miles, while the Rally’s all-terrain tires and taller stance drained the battery in 265 miles.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E will arrive at dealers in early 2025, with pricing to start at $38,490 (pricing includes $1,995 destination charge). Full trim-level pricing will be released closer to the start of sales.
