Ford ticks a lot of the right boxes for this vehicle -

Ford ticks a lot of the right boxes for this vehicle - excellent, quiet ride quality on rough roads. Fantastic hands-free self-driving on freeways. Phone-as-key with keypad on the door convenience. As a second family car (our other car takes gas) it's awesome - never having to go to the gas station with charging at home for 1/4 the cost per mile of gas is brilliant. I've driven most of the competitors and never have I been jealous of the other cars. Until they have the phone-as-key or hands free BlueCruise, I feel lucky to have the Mach-E. And yes, I think Ford and GM need to get better at naming cars. Mustang? Blazer? How did these decisions get approved?

Does not give true estimate of miles to be used. extremely long time to charge. Price per charge a lot more than a gallon of gas. Very low miles per charge

2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is a five-seat electric SUV with a sporty demeanor and a choice of standard or extended-range battery packs and rear- or all-wheel drive. In its base trim, the Mach-E is a spacious and comfortable electric vehicle with an airy cabin and plenty of punch for everyday driving. Lower trim levels offer between 264 and 365 horsepower, depending on configuration, while the GT and Rally boast 480 hp and scorching performance, with 0-60 mph times under 4 seconds. Mach-E rivals include the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.4.

What’s New on the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

A new off-road-oriented Rally trim joins the line for 2024. Based on the GT trim, it gets unique styling touches, a specially tuned suspension that’s been raised 0.8 inches, white 19-inch wheels, all-terrain tires and underbody shielding. It also has a RallySport mode that’s designed for off-road performance driving. Standard on the Rally and available on the GT is a Performance Upgrade that bumps up torque 100 pounds-feet, to 700 total. The GT also gets additional standard features, as well as an available Bronze Appearance Package that adds 20-inch bronze-painted wheels, a matching bronze front grill and exterior badging. All Mach-Es get updated infotainment software and a more powerful rear motor that’s lighter and delivers more torque than the 2023 unit.

How Much Range Does the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Have?

The Mustang Mach-E’s EPA-estimated driving range runs from 230 to 320 miles, depending on battery pack, drive wheels and trim.

How Long Does it Take to Charge the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

With its available extended-range battery pack, the Mustang Mach-E’s charging times range from an estimated 10.1 hours on a standard 240-volt Level 2 charger (to go from empty to a 100% charge) to an estimated 36.2 minutes on a 350-kilowatt DC fast charger (to go from a 10% charge to 80%). With the standard battery pack, the estimated charge times are 7.1 hours on a Level 2 charger and 32.3 minutes on a DC fast charger.

What Features in the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 15.5-inch infotainment screen
  • Ford Co-Pilot 360 safety features
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Wireless device charging
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Forward collision warning
  • Satellite radio
  • Synthetic leather seating surfaces
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot warning
  • LED headlights
  • Automatic high beams

Available features include:

  • BlueCruise hands-free highway driving assist
  • Panoramic moonroof
  • All-wheel drive
  • Surround-view parking camera
  • Hands-free park assist
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Brembo brakes
  • Adaptive suspension
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • 20-inch alloy wheels

Should I Buy the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Unless you’re a die-hard Mustang purist who insists on the visceral thrill of a gas-fed engine (and can’t cotton to the idea of a Mustang SUV), the Mustang Mach-E is a smart and speedy choice. Thanks to its airy cabin and intuitive infotainment system, getting comfortable and accustomed to the interior takes only a moment. Cargo room is plentiful, which is a compliment you’ll never hear given to the regular Mustang. The GT and new Rally trims have sports-car levels of acceleration, but most EV shoppers will find the Select and Premium trims deliver plenty of performance and range at a much lower price.
