Face-Lifted 2025 GMC Yukon Goes Upmarket in Content and Price, Starts at $68,895

GMC’s full-size flagship SUV looks a little different from the outside for the 2025 model year, but the Yukon’s interior is significantly upgraded. It gets a lower dashboard for enhanced forward visibility, an enhanced tech package that includes a standard 11-inch digital instrument panel and 16.8-inch touchscreen, and available heated, ventilated and massaging seats in the first and second rows.
GMC also overhauled the Yukon’s trim hierarchy, ditching the entry-level SLE and SLT trims and replacing them with the Elevation, and a newly available AT4 Ultimate trim combines the capability upgrades of the AT4 with most of the luxury equipment from the range-topping Denali Ultimate. The Yukon’s base price is up $8,700 from the 2024 SLT’s sticker, to $68,895, which is $5,400 higher than its mechanical sibling, the Chevrolet Tahoe, but an incredible $23,695 less than the cheapest 2025 Cadillac Escalade (all prices include destination charge).

Powertrains Specs and MPG
For 2025, the GMC Yukon is again available with three engine choices: a 5.3-liter V-8 engine making 355 horsepower and 383 pounds-feet of torque, a 6.2-liter V-8 putting out 420 hp and 460 pounds-feet, and a 3.0-liter Duramax diesel inline-six. Revised for 2025, the Duramax generates 28 hp and 35 pounds-feet more than before, for totals of 305 and 495, respectively. A 10-speed automatic is the only available transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the Elevation and Denali; four-wheel drive is a $3,000 option with the gas engines and $3,150 with the diesel. The AT4 and Ultimate trims are only available with 4WD.
Rear-drive Yukons return an EPA-rated 15/20/17 mpg city/highway/combined with either gas V-8. With 4WD, the 5.3-liter is rated at 15/19/17 mpg and the 6.2-liter gets 14/18/16 mpg. (Fuel-economy figures are not yet available for the diesel, which will go on sale later in the year.)
Availability and Pricing
The 2025 GMC Yukon is on sale now. Full pricing (including $1,995 destination fee) is as follows:
- Elevation: $68,895
- AT4: $75,695
- Denali: $78,995
- AT4 Ultimate: $95,795
- Denali Ultimate: $101,795
The XL is $3,000 more expensive in every trim level/powertrain configuration. Fifteen inches longer overall than the regular Yukon, the XL is stretched 13 inches between the axles, with nets an additional 1.8 inches of third-row legroom. More significantly, the XL boasts an additional 16 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the third-row seat and 21.7 cubic feet more with the second- and third-row seats folded, per GMC’s measurements.
Safety Features and Trim Levels
With a price tag to match its footprint, the Yukon boasts a lengthy list of standard features. Safety systems include forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and steering assist, blind spot intervention, rear cross-traffic alert with pedestrian detection, front cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera system and automated parking. In addition to those (widely available) features, the Yukon also packs three that are unique to GM products: Buckle to Drive, which prevents the Yukon from being shifted out of Park until the driver’s seat belt is fastened; Safety Alert Seat, which vibrates the driver’s seat cushion to call attention to the direction of potential hazards; and Teen Driver, which allows parents to limit or block certain functions when a specific key fob is used to start the vehicle.
Riding on 20-inch wheels, the entry-level Elevation trim builds on the safety suite with an equally lengthy list of standard luxury features, including LED headlights and taillights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power liftgate, keyless entry and start, remote start and a mechanical limited-slip rear differential. Inside, you’ll find synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated first- and second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, an 11-inch digital instrument panel, wireless smartphone charging and a 10-speaker Bose sound system. The 16.8-inch infotainment touchscreen includes Google Built-In and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Aimed at buyers with off-road ambitions, the AT4 features standard 4WD, a two-speed transfer case with a low range, a high-clearance front bumper, skid plate and red tow hooks. It also gets a few luxury upgrades, namely a hands-free power liftgate, perforated leather upholstery and ventilated front seats.
The Denali forgoes the AT4’s off-road gear but keeps the luxury features and adds a 15-inch head-up display, second-row captain’s chairs, and upgraded upholstery and trim. To realize the Yukon’s full potential, you have to step up to the Denali Ultimate, which rides on 24-inch wheels and includes standard 4WD with a two-speed transfer case, an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential, adaptive air suspension, panoramic moonroof and power-retractable running boards. It also features massaging front seats and numerous tech upgrades, such as GM’s hands-free semi-autonomous Super Cruise, twin 12.6-inch entertainment screens mounted in the front seatbacks (each with wireless headphones), an 8-inch second-row climate-control touchscreen and an 18-speaker Bose audio system with front-seat head restraint speakers. The Max Trailering Package is standard on the Denali Ultimate and includes an integrated trailer-brake controller, upgraded blind spot intervention that covers the length of the trailer, and a rearview mirror camera that with a wireless camera mounted to the trailer can give the driver a clear view behind their rig.
New for 2025, the AT4 Ultimate combines much of the Denali Ultimate’s luxury trimmings with the AT4’s off-road capability. It rides on bronze-painted 20-inch wheels and features different upholstery and interior trim, but standard equipment is otherwise the same between the two Ultimates. Night vision is available for both, but only on the Denali Ultimate can buyers add executive rear seats with ventilation, massage and head restraint speakers.
