Ever wonder which vehicles are driven the most and the least? Not surprisingly, the versatile pickup truck dominates the latest list of the most-driven vehicles. In fact — again, not surprisingly — heavy-duty pickups rack up the most miles driven of any pickups (although the data does not distinguish between single rear-wheel or dual rear-wheel models).
According to a new report from used-car website Carvana.com, of the top 15 vehicles that log the most driven miles each year, heavy-duty pickup trucks fill out eight of the top spots. Full-size SUVs claim five of the top spots, while the Dodge Grand Caravan minivan and the fleet-popular Chevrolet Impala sedan round out the list.
The survey is based on data for model-year 2015 vehicles gathered from more than 1,600,000 sales transactions from Jan. 1 to May 23, 2018, in which a "sold" vehicle is defined as a single vehicle identification number that is no longer listed for sale at a dealer. Make and model classifications were limited to those models with more than 1,000 recorded sales in the previous five months. The analysis also focused on model-year 2015 vehicles to remove rental-fleet and leased vehicles from the results.
What were the least-driven vehicles? As you might expect, sports cars, specialty mini-class options and European models fell into that category.
Below are the top 15 most-driven model-year 2015 vehicles with their average annual mileage.
