Typcial Used Car Salesman

As a whole, this was probably the worst car buying experience that I have had in buying 10 cars from various dealerships in my life. It all started the morning of the car deal, I started texting with Matt Zollinger at 8:00 am (an hour before they opened) about a Buick Enclave that they had. I had sent him the vin, and a screenshot of the listing from their website. I told him that we wanted to come down and purchase it, and that I would be getting the financing pre approval through my credit union when they opened at 9. We stayed in communication through the morning, and I let him know when we were leaving to head down there, and that financing was in place (an hour and a half drive). When we get there, he greeted us at our car, and told us he already had it started and warmed up so that we could drive it. He walked us past an enclave that looked like the one we were there to buy, and took us to a Buick Encore. I reminded him that we were there to look at the Enclave, he said that his computer must have gotten them mixed up, and that he was pretty sure that the enclave was being sold currently, but we could go inside to confirm. We follow him inside, and he tells us that the enclave has been sold, and that he wouldn't have been able to hold it without a deposit. Big problem though...he never gave us that option. Fast forward a bit, and we look at some other SUV's and find a Subaru Ascent to move forward with. Matt goes out to look at our car we're trading in to get us a trade in value on it. He comes over after looking at the car and asks my wife and I how much we were hoping to get out of our trade. I told him that we needed to get $1,000 out of it so that it would cover the payoff for the existing loan. He went and talked to the managers at the front, and came back and told us that is not a problem they could do that $1,000. Fast forward a long bit, and we waited almost 3 hours to finally get into the finance office. Once we get into the finance office, the paperwork the finance manager had, showed only $500 for the trade in. I told him what Matt had said, so he called up front to the managers desk, and they told him the best they could do was $750. I reminded him that Matt already promised my wife and I that we would be getting $1,000 for the trade. The finance guy went up front and came back, and told us that they had agreed to do the full $1,000. So, in the end, we got the deal done, but the whole experience was the worst I have ever had.

2018 Land Rover Range Rover

Bad dealer I ever bought. I bought 2018 Land Rover on Aug 14 and I made wire full amount on that day. I bought with Jeremy. Today is 11/24/2020. I still don't get title yet. I called them mostly every day but they are super rude. They said I have to wait and they wanted me to be patience. I told them that I've been waiting 3 months already. Shame on them! How is their after sales service! Tylor is the rudest in their dealer. He seems like he doesn't know about the laws. He just tried to yell up the customers. He doesn't try to solve the problem. Shame on him. Be ware!

Highly Recommended

If you are looking for a great deal, a company that stands behind their word and are professionals, call these guys up. I live in Alaska and found a smoking deal at Prestman Auto in SLC. Mario and Jeremey made this transaction smooth over the phone and via email. I flew out to SLC, got the keys and drove it home. There were a couple of issues that needed to be addressed and they stood by their word and fixed them. Daniel in service was professional and on point. I really appreciate this crew and the truck they sold me. THANK YOU PRESTMAN AUTO! I wish i could leave you 10 stars!!!!!! Highly recommended.

Great buying experience

I read a lot of reviews and visited this dealership quite a few times before we bought our car, I'm not sure why there are so many negative experiences because ours was so quick, easy and not pushy at all. They consistently checked on us but they were not overbearing at all. When we were ready they worked with us on the price and loan to make sure we were happy and what we wanted to work in our budget. I will definitely buy my next vehicle there and will write another review based on that experience. Thanks Prestman!

I lost thousands of dollars in three months

*CHECK THEIR BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU REVIEWS/GRADE*. I rarely review anything. I just dont really care to, but in the case of Prestman I will write a review on every platform I can find. I purchased a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee from them. I owned the car for around 3 months, and it was in the shop for various reasons for a total of *6 WEEKS* on and off during this time. There were two separate times the car stalled or the same check engine lights came back on within 30 minutes of leaving the Prestman service center. The car was a lemon, plain and simple. I spent over $1500 on repairs and tow trucks within 2 months of purchasing the car. On one occasion I took the jeep into Prestman for a scheduled repair. I took a day off work as I would have no car. It sat there for 8 hours before I called to check on the status and nothing had been done. The parts were never even ordered and no one bothered to call me. On another occasion (had owned it for 6 weeks at this point) the car was smoking/shaking and reporting a check engine code. I took it into the shop for probably the fourth time in a month, and told Tammie what all was going on. After three days I called to check on the status and NO ONE EVEN KNEW WHY I HAD BROUGHT IT IN. When I spoke to Dan, he said they fixed some other unrelated issue. I said "great, what about the smoking and shaking?" and he had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. No one had even started to work on figuring it out because it Tammie never told anyone. The service center has no clue what is going on. It is remarkable how unorganized they are. I finally sold the car back to Prestman for about $6000 less than I bought it. That is, until I found out the $3000 warranty was completely NONREFUNDABLE. Some of my family members own car dealerships, and this is apparently unheard of. The people at mountain america who financed the car were shocked when I showed them the paperwork. They couldnt believe it. Stay far away from this business. The prices are very attractive, and believe me there is a reason they are so low.

F150 vehicle purchase

I highly recommend Prestman Auto! We found a truck we liked and simply inquired about the vehicle. Jared Barnes got ahold of me and made the entire buying process incredibly easy and hassle free! We live in Montana and bought the truck from salt lake to drive home and had a mishap during our travels to pick up the vehicle and Jared was more than willing to help and was there to assist and help in any and all ways! When I'm in the market to buy another vehicle I will search Prestman Auto first thing before looking anywhere else.

RUN AWAY! Horrible Customer Service and dishonest!

Liars and shady tactics. I would NEVER buy from them. I even met one of the owners and he was the epitome of the 'used car salespeople' stereotype, but dropped a level lower with 'salvaged car salesman.' Just a Horrible person and an even worse company.

Scam Artists

I bought a 16 Audi A5 in OCT 2019 Prestman had 45 days to register, inspect and provide the title to CA DMV. In 45 days DMV did not receive the necessary documents. In turn I did all the due diligence to license and register the vehicle. I paid for all the inspections to take the car out of salvage. I signed and filled out all necessary forms and documents to register my vehicle. Prestman failed to: 1) register the vehicle in February of 2018 or fill out CA DMV Planned Non-Operation (PNO) option. 2) Prestman failed to conduct all inspections required to clear the salvage title and provide me with a branded title within the promised timeframe. Therefore, I should not be billed for dealer doc fee $489 Inspection fee $192 Lic and Registration $110 CA DMV Registration from 2/2019-2/2020 $615 This is a total of $1,406

Don’t buy here! Awful new management!

Don’t buy here! This dealership that advertises selling “the highest quality vehicles possible” sold me a car with no primer under the paint, and $5,000 in hidden damage! Once I found out about the paint, their old manager Travis offered to fix it by paying to install a Clearbra on the car and repaint the hood. My car was just in the shop and the manager told me he found $5000 in “hidden damages” inside the car including missing hardware and even the incorrect screws to hold the car together. I sent all the photographs of the damages to Daniel the service manager at the Salt Lake location and he blamed the builder they bought the car from, saying there’s nothing he could do and that Travis had just left his job so now the company has no one that cares about upholding their image or being true to their word of quality anymore. It’s sad when all the other employees there who heard my story before connecting me with management all understood and sympathized with my plight and then hearing over and over while on hold “we sell the highest quality vehicles possible”. What an insult. Avoid at all costs.
