I purchased a car from here and then two days after there inspection: I brought it to a profesional dealership to have it looked at again. It had failed 4 things. Since then I had to bring my car back here over three times to be fixed. Everytime " they fix it" I bring it back to a professional dealership to be looked at. Everytime the proffesional dealership looks at it they tell me that the problem still is not fixed. The last time I went to pick up my car from there at the shop, I didnt even drive it home. I drove it around there parking lot and you could stillo hear and feel the car making noise. They wanted me to take the car home but I refused and told them it was staying there until it was fixed. Im sure it still wont be fixed right. It was the worst service that I have ever seen. On top of them taking some extra cash from me that did not belong to them, they also provide you with the worst service for any depatment! DO NOT GO THERE!

Their Cars are sold without Emissions
Worst experience ever especially since I'm in the business. After getting more inside info on this place I don't understand how they stay running! More than half of their cars on the lot DO NOT HAVE EMISSIONS!!! They reset your lights on the dash so they can sell you. My check engine light was on 4 dys after I bouth the car. They did nothing to fix the solution even after I gave them the codes for the O2 sensor that needed to be replaced. They were rude and disrespectful to me when I asked when my car would be ready after they had for 2dys when upon return was not fixed. They didnt do any oil change or replace the air filter which is the very first thing every dealer does. They do not put any cars through safety inspection either! BEWARE OPF THIS PLACE! Carfax all vehicles before you buy 80% are crashed and water damaged and they know it!

Last Place I'd EVER buy a car!!
The only good thing i can say is the salesman we had was very nice. After calling and finding 2 cars I liked,(one $8000, one $10000)and being told they'd be ready for a drive I drove 2 hrs to find only 1 of the cars on the lot and it wasnt even close to ready. The 2nd car took us an hour of driving around to some guy out in the woods w/ a garage behind his house who was fixing the bumper....but only the rear one and not the front one. I was told that he was probably told to only fix one! This one was missing the cargo carpet and the $10k one was missing all the rear headrests. I was told they should probably find some stuff somewhere to fix that. I didnt even get out of the driveway w/ either and heard a terrible clunking and vibration in the front end. What a joke. I dont care if these are just off auction or not.....I dont expect a 49k mile, $10k car to sound like that!! I would rather pay a few hundred dollars more and get a good deal than go to this joke of a place that just wants to push out a bunch of cars a month. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

After reading a list of horrible reviews I felt compelled to write about my experience. I found a 2004 Lincoln Town Car that I was interested. As soon as I got there I was greeted by Alex and before showing me the car he explained about the $796 fee for non wholesale buyers. He wanted to make that clear up front. I ended buying the car, and agreed to pick it up in a couple of days. They promised they would fix anything wrong the car had. Alex even showed up on his day off to deliver the car. The car was clean, and it just had been detailed. Carpet was still wet from the shampoo. When I got in to drive away, the driver seat wouldn’t move forward and neither did the passenger’s. Their mechanic took a look at it and realized the seat rails where totally rusted and promised to replace both of them. He asked me to take the car home and to give him a week or two to find two used car seats. The very next day I got a call saying they had found the parts. Brought the car back, left it there for 2 days and they replace the rail system on both seats. My only complaint is that they didn’t vacuum the car after all the work was done. I have driven 1000 miles so far and the car is fine. They also changed the oil and installed new brake pads. Everything went very well.

I went to A Better Way because I was looking for a new car. When I got there and wanted to test drive a car I saw online, Rebecca brought me to the car. It was all scratched up, had dents on the roof, leather inside was peeling and overall did not have great body work. None of this was shown in the pictures. I took it for a test drive and heard a weird sound that I told her I wanted her to look into before I bought it. She kept saying she didn't hear anything and she knew nothing about cars. I then asked her about the steering and she again said she knew nothing about cars. When we got back from the test drive I asked to work with somebody else because I didn't want to work with somebody who knew nothing and I was directed to Jim. He seemed very helpful so I went through all the numbers and figures with him and asked if he could hold the car for 24 hours while I got the check and paperwork ready; I would be there the next day after work(it was after 7pm and banks were closed). I came back the next day and they said the car was sold. How could you sell a car when I confirmed with you an hour earlier that I was coming and everything was secure?? Overall, bad experience, and their customer service is garbage! Stay away from A Better Way!

What a scam!!Used car price 9,995.00. $1,000 Non refundable deposit required.$558.00 "dealer prep "fee plus a $198 fee? With ct 6.35 % tax price jumped up and over 11,600???? Ten days to get the car ready.Did the brakes, the cheepest parts you can get.Brakes grind and sound like crap.Tryed to sell "life time free" oil change for $299 ,nothing free about that.Ordered parts for sunroof repair and tryed to talk me in to taking the car as it is, with the repair promissed "when the parts come in".Not a chance, i know how that works. When i finaly got the car, half the stuff that was suposed to be done, was not.And a half xxx job of cleaning the car. Oh, and please dont ask for a car fax, "We dont pay for that". Got one on my own, car was wrecked twice. To bad for me, cant get out of the deal without losing a grand. Do youself a favor, spend a little more and buy a car from a reputable dealer!!! Mike

Salesperson told us the ADVERTISED price which was in their AD and written on the windshields were only for "Dealers".He told me to add $1000.00 dollars to every price if I am not a Dealer.I left. No reputable car dealership would pull a tactic like that.Stay away and the State of CT should do something about this place. Not worth a trip to Naugatuck. Not to be trusted!

My mistake was i told paul that was my firs time. i asked him for the carfax, he told me he was going to get it. when he came back he gave me a bunch of papers to signed. I need a car for work so i signed them. After i put $3,000 deposit down, thats when he gave me the final price. The car was for $4,999 and tax was almost $3,000. The deposit i put down was nothing.Paul played too much game with me,He didnt fix the brake and shocks. He installed the cheapest one in the market. Two months later they started to make noise. The shocks he put was cheap but i dont have money to buy new one. Im saving to buy four new tire, the one he gave me wasn't good. I will never go there again. I hope you get yours.

This is an update to my posting a few months back. I bought a truck sight unseen, dealing with them from Alaska. I asked the salesperson a million questions about the truck as I was concerned. One biggie: rust. I asked her to check some very specific places like the rocker panels, fenders, etc. Her response a day later: "no rust anywhere, you're gonna love this truck". I also asked about the little things, power mirrors, stereo, heated seats, power locks, etc. "Everything works perfectly, and it will go through our shop before you get it and any problem WILL be fixed." So here's what showed up in my driveway.... a truck with rusted out rocker panels(you can put your hand right through them), rust on the fenders that none of their photos showed, badly dented tube steps, broken stereo, broken heated seats, power door locks don't function correctly, and the power mirrors don't work. A handful of unreturned calls to my wonderful salesperson, then I turned to BBB. We filed a report and got some really stupid replies from the dealer, never willing to address the bold face lies I was told. After going back and forth with them, no resolution was reached, they were unwilling to concede anything, even though I easily lost about $5000 in the deal. The BBB told me to contact the Connecticut DMV. When I called and told the lady my problem, her response was "we already know all about A Better Way and have an investigation alredy underway". They took my case, but in the end they told me it was a civil matter that they wouldn't be able to pursue with me. At the same time, they were shocked at the photos of the truck I sent to them. It's been months since I bought this truck, but it hurts me to think of other folks going through what I did, so I needed to write another review. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! I have a very tight budget and it's gonna take years to get over the burn from this experience.
