Purchasing a vehicle at Hackensack toyota and dealing

Purchasing a vehicle at Hackensack toyota and dealing with Miriam was by far the best experience I have ever had buying a new car. Miriam was extremely efficient and knowledgeable. Miriam answered all of my questions and made a point of letting me know that she would always be available in the future to answer any questions or concerns that come up. I will be referring my family and friends to Miriam!!

Every car is 2k more than what its listed as!

Every single car listed is 2k less than the actual price. Its a bait and switch to get you interested and then they drop the hidden prices.

This dealership seemed to go out of their way to help me

This dealership seemed to go out of their way to help me get the hard to find GR86 even though I was a out of state buyer. Tim Jacoby was a great help in initially helping me obtain the car I was wanting. He provided great customer service. I was then assigned Miriam as my salesperson and she was absolutely OUSTANDING! She was very quick to answer all phone calls and emails with lightning speed. She seemed very in tune with my needs and she was very customer service oriented. She made all arrangements with my credit union and myself to ensure we received the needed paperwork and documents for a out of state purchase. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would. The only disappointment I had with this dealership is the $3000.00 markup over MSRP and they would not honor my $500.00 military discount I am elgible for. I understand a dealership is in business to make money, but these dealers make profit even off letting the car go for MSRP, so markups and not honoring elgible discounts for customers left a bad taste in my mouth and although I loved working with Tim and Miriam, I would not go back or recommend this dealership due to the markup and not honoring my military discount and in NO way should my disappointment be reflected on Tim or Miriam they both were outstanding but had their hands tied do to dealer greed!

First, let us thank you for traveling from out of state to make your purchase with us. In answer your review, the $3000 markup was clearly disclosed when you inquired regarding the GR86 in May. The Neptune exterior color you purchased is highly sought after and probably not available locally if you traveled to us in NJ. Second, we did not sell the vehicle for $3K over MSRP. If you look at your purchase agreement, we sold the vehicle for $2K list. In regards to the Military rebate it requires "credit approval from and execute a finance or lease contract through Toyota Financial Services at participating Toyota dealers." You chose not to finance through Toyota Financial Services for your purchase. Unfortunately, the Military rebate cannot be applied in this scenario because it does not meet terms and conditions of the rebate set forth from the bank. This has nothing to do with us honoring or not honoring the Military Rebate, If the terms and conditions required for the rebate are not met, the offer cannot be applied to the purchase.

Dealer response

Financing through your own bank because interest rates were cheaper is completely understandable. However, it does not change the requirements set forth from TFS in regards to the conditions of the Military Rebate. If the conditions of the rebate are not met, the dealer cannot do anything in regards to applying the rebate. We did open your purchase, and we did reduce the markup from $3K to $2k for your purchase.

I planned on financing with Toyota so I could specifically use the military rebate but Tim Jacoby flat out said they would not give me the $500.00 military credit so that is why I financed with my credit union because intrest rates were cheaper. Yes, I was aware of the $3000.00 markup on the car, but your dealership is one of the very few charging this much over MSRP, most if not all offer it at MSRP but the wait for the car may be longer, so once again this comes down to dealer greed! Anyway, it is what it is and no point in arguing back and forth you got your money and my stepson got the car he wanted.

My car waa fixed and returned on time. Even though the service that i needed wasnt somwthing that i caused it was something caused at the shop with my previous service for the struts. That wasnt pleasant and as well makes you feel pess confident in your toyota dealer when you have always trusted them.
