This is just a small example of the great service...

This is just a small example of the great service provided at Bob Tyler Toyota in Pensacola. I had a brake light that was out and called the dealership. I spoke to Jaime Rivera who told me to come on by today, if I had the time. I arrived at the dealership and was greeted by Robert, a gentleman whose last name I did not get. Told him of my situation and he said to go inside and pay for the bulb. I was inside for a couple of minutes with a couple of people in front of me. After a very small wait, I paid for my bulb and returned to my Highlander. Robert had changed the bulb! It actually took longer to pay for the bulb than to get the bulb changed! I was totally impressed! Thanks Mr. Tyler, for having your employees take the time to provide great service on such a small issue!

I will never again consider purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. Unfortunately, a man who prides himself on military service and flying the American flag doesn’t pass morals to his sales teams. Positives: Amanda Harris with internet sales is professional and honest in her job. After using USAA pricing service, wife and I went into dealership and spoke with salesman Tony. I specifically told him I didn’t want to provide privacy information but he said the sales department would only do a snapshot on my credit (soft inquiry). I was very adamant that I didn’t want my credit pulled as I don’t want a credit hit and credit score drop for two years on my credit if I decide not to buy. Bottom line, Tony lied and we took a credit hit that will last two years. Upon verifying a hard inquiry with Equifax (both wife and I took hit) I asked the Sales Manager Michael, about this and after he denied it was a hard inquiry he then back stepped and said that we signed the paperwork and provided the PPI and bottom line shame on us. The man has no place in management. I have since notified Toyota Customer Care and filed a complaint and will do everything in my power to educate others about this un-ethical approach to selling a car. No, it’s not illegal as I provided the PPI but it’s not the way of doing business. This almost validates why Eastern Shore Toyota won a multi-million dollar settlement with this dealership. If you have your own financing, not doing a trade, and are using a service that provides bottom line pricing save yourself a drive and use Bob Tyler. If you need financing, are trading in a vehicle, or negotiating the price, drive further and don’t blame me when you find yourself writing a negative review?

Dealer response

Today, March 12, 2014, Mr. Tyler in response to this review, personally called to discuss what happened and spoke with the customer. Mr. Tyler Apologized for the misunderstanding and asked if he could do anything to sell him a car and he said no.

This dealership is very dishonest and practices yo yo financing scams. I had to go back to the dealership a few times because of the PAL I had did not go through because of the negative equity and the dealership nor the loan company pointed this out. I originally had went to the dealership to go buy a used car and the dealership ended up selling me a car for $5,000 more than what the car was worth. They also ended up selling my car that I traded in for 6,000 more than what they gave me for the car. Please steer clear of this dealership! -------------UPDATE 01/06/2014-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today the issue was resolved after talking to the Used Car sales department manager, Sarah Chapman. This showed that this dealership is willing to ensure that its customers have a great overall experience. I really appreciate the willingness of the dealership to have great customer service. I look forward to the possibility of doing business with them in the future.

We went to BOB TYLER TOYOTA looking to test drive a pick up on Nov-30, 2013. We were four, two adults and two small children. I thought with all of us together would be easier to decide on which truck to get. We walked in, no appointment, and Dave Bratcher greeted us. We walked with Dave and saw a few vehicles side by side for better comparison. Dave was excellent and gave us one of the greatest customer service experience. He helped us by listening and answering our questions, as well as understanding our needs. He was great with our children also, for which we are very grateful. We later met Sara and Kim, great ladies! Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. Dave will be my first choice on helping us to purchase a vehicle!

Pleased new altima owner

We have been researching vehicles and knew we wanted either a nissan altima or a honda accord (both had about the same ratings on Kelly blue book and true consumer report). We came to Bob Tyler with intent to test drive a used Nissan Altima that was advertised. Our sales rep. ROBIN OVERBAY greeted us immediately eager to assist us with the buying process. Robin was so patient with us she answered our questions with confidence we are really impressed with her customer service skills.WE appreciate everything and we would recommend Bob tyler and robin to anyone.

I drove over 200 miles to buy a car from Bob Tyler Toyota after having a few bad experiences locally. The price on auto trader was almost unbelievable, but we went anyway after speaking to a rep over the phone. The price was set, no haggling, no pressure, just a good deal. Jason was our sales rep and was very professional and knowledgeable and he made us feel at ease. It was well worth the drive.

Fraudulent Toyota "Certified" inspection. ...

Fraudulent Toyota "Certified" inspection. Wiper hose lines leaky & knawed, fluids empty & not checked, list goes on. BTT admitted mechanic fired for not doing inspections & now they won't pay to have another dealer perform Certification inspection they failed to do properly. Six weeks from purchase & still have no title for CASH deal! 2011 FJ Cruiser basically has worthless certification. Live 200 miles away & local dealer cannot do work unless they prepay due to bad collection history. Randy Brooks refuses to authorize certification inspection by local dealer, even though BTT fraudulently represented to Toyota corporate that car passed Certified inspection. LIARS & FRAUDS! No reasoning with this person who obviously lacks ability to deliver any modicum of service. Incidentally, we are only talking about a $530 bill for the inspection! Laughable & maddening situation! I will never buy anything from BTT again!

deceptive advertising

I saw a car advertised by Bob Tyler Toyota on CARS.COM that I was interested in. I went to the dealership and spoke to one of the sales rep about this car. We took the car for a test drive and I liked everything about this car. I asked the rep about the price and she quoted the 'sticker price' which was $3,800,00 more that the advertised price. I pointed the discrepancy to the rep about the price she quoted and the advertised price. She went to check out the ad and told me I could get the price quoted on CARS.COM. She then let their person evaluate my car's trade-in value. Lo and behold, their trade-in value of my car was $3,800.00 less than Kelly Blue Book trade-in value (the same difference between the sticker price and sale price). I also pointed that difference to them and they would not come up on their value of my car. Needless to say I walked away from their deal.

Buying my first car.

SHELIA MOORE i am 76 years old and have never purchased a car before. It turned out to be a great experience. I worked with a sales woman named Shelia Moore. She could not have been more helpful. I told her I had no money down. The only thing I had was a 1999 Buick Park Avenue. Not in such good shape. She assured me we could do something. We spent several hours looking at used cars. I thought I wanted a car then decided I wanted a SUV. Shelia was very patient and I never felt rushed. I could not have asked for anything more from Shelia. She met my need and questions in every way. I would recommend her to anyone. Nancy Sykes

Our involvement with the skilled team at Bob Tyler made...

Our involvement with the skilled team at Bob Tyler made our car buying experience so enjoyable that we decided to purchase two automobiles from them within a week of each other. They were straight forward with choices that were well within our payment range. Our sales person Raquel stayed extra-long hours showing us many wonderful choices; she is a true professional with negations and answered all of our questions and concerns during and after the purchase. Even a month later she keeps in contact to be sure we are happy with the cars. I would recommend my friends and family to Raquel if they ever are in the car market. Great job goes to Mike, Austin, Raquel and everyone else of the team!! Kent, Teenia and Bekka Rodriguez
