James Steffen was very helpful in helping us find an...

James Steffen was very helpful in helping us find an affordable car for our daughter and was very willing to work with us. We had to wait until Saturday to finalize the deal because we wanted our daughter to see the car and to agree to the color, etc. James had to serve the weekend on the Reserves so Mark Thomas led us through the paperwork and went over the car with my daughter. duped as well

I'm not naming names in any of this review. I should start off by saying that back in the mid 1990s, my husband and I bought a used truck from McGrath. I wanted to line up our own financing with our bank, but we were pressured into taking a loan from one of McGrath's high interest lenders. A month later, the engine blew in the truck and when I called McGrath to complain, the salesman laughed at me and told me that's what we got for buying a used vehicle that had no warranty. True, we should've had it looked at by our mechanic but my husband impatiently had to have the truck that night. Recently I was looking for a used car to replace my older vehicle. Despite my past bad experience with McGrath, I saw a car I liked on their website and called to set up a time to look at it. I asked the online person to make sure the car was on their lot and was assured it was. I got to the Hiawatha lot and was told that the car had sold the night before and they hadn't gotten around to removing it from the site. The salesman I was to meet with shuffled me off on another salesman, and this is where the "fun" began. They tried to "find" cars in my price range (I had my loan already arranged thru my bank) and the first car they showed me was obviously a ringer car trotted out to "show" buyers 'this is the piece of junk you get for that kind of loan amount'. I declined and was going to leave, but they offered a car comparable to the one I'd originally gone to look at, and I asked before even looking at it if it was in my price range and was given a vague 'I think so' answer. The car was on another lot, so the salesman has me drive the ringer car over to that lot (and the ringer car drove terrible, the steering felt bad on it and the frame creaked like crazy when we'd hit a bump). Then they couldn't find the car I'm supposed to be looking at on the lot. Waited for over 20 minutes before they finally they found it. The car test drove okay and checked out by my mechanic, and while I wasn't impressed by it, I decided to see what kind of deal they'd give me. My salesman was now working with another buyer, so I got yet a third salesman. I was told they wouldn't take my car as a trade in. The worksheet they came back to me with was $3000 over my loan limit and they refused to knock any money off for not taking my car as a trade in, plus they tried to hammer me into putting a downpayment that was 4x higher my intended amount. The salesman tried to aggressively pressure me into taking a loan through one of their lenders and tried to get me to sign a sales agreement saying I would purchase that car. He threw in the sad puppy dog eyes act and told me he couldn't go any lower on that car because his boss would yell at him. He played the stall and 'I've got to run this past my salesmanager' game in hopes they'd run me out of time so I couldn't get the worksheet to my bank and would be forced to take their deal. The car wasn't worth their asking price and by this time, I'd been at their dealership for almost 5 hours, so I got up to leave and they all came running, telling me if I walked on that car deal, it'd be gone by the evening and they could only guarantee the deal they offered me for that one night. I walked anyway. Two months later, the car was still on their website, price reduced on it. I'd also gotten calls and emails from the dealership for weeks afterward, trying to get me to come back in. I've since found a nicer and newer car through another dealership, it was within my price range, and best of all, I wasn't hassled or high pressured into taking a deal I wasn't comfortable with. The hilarious thing was, McGrath's hit every single bad line and tactic you hear dealerships using and I was glad I read up on their games before getting a car. Would never recommend or do business with McGrath again, others I've talked to have shared similar experiences as well and warned me not to go through McGrath's to get a car.

I called to get the price on a 15K check for a Chevy...

I called to get the price on a 15K check for a Chevy Equinox I was told all they did and the price of $65.42. When I arrived at the dealership I was told that the price was $185.00. I told the person the price I was given and she said they have been having computer problems and she would let her mgr. know. Hmmm the OLD Bait and Switch. The sales at Pat McGrath is great but SERVICE always does stuff like this, they either don't meet warrenty needs, they question any problems that you bring to their attention or the flat out LIE to you about cost. I ended up selling my 2013 chevy for a honda just to get away from them. At this point they lost the sale of at least 4 vehicles from my family and more as I get the word out.

The last car I purchased was from the mcgrath superstore...

The last car I purchased was from the mcgrath superstore so i choose to go back I went to the marion superstore.My husband and I had a great experience. We had a wonderful time with Josh Schwind he worked very hard to get us the car we wanted.I would recommend the dealership to anyone looking to purchase i vehicle.I gave the rating I did is because of the wonderful experience that I had and also think they should get this award again this year

We worked with Jordan on our first vehicle 3 years ago...

We worked with Jordan on our first vehicle 3 years ago and thought he did a very nice job then and has kept in touch. So when we were looking to trade in we knew exactly where we were going to go! Jordan answered my email and questions right away. As soon as we got there he had the vehicles we were looking at ready to test drive. We ended up getting something that came in the day before and we love it! His manager Darin was a great guy as well. You know when you leave a place, just spent $20,000, laughed the whole and left with a smile on your face that it was a great experience. Thanks to everyone at Pat McGrath for making it such a fun experience. I hope to be able to recommend Jordan to anyone looking for a new (or used) car in the future. Great people!!

My wife and I bought a new 2013 Silverado 1500 on...

My wife and I bought a new 2013 Silverado 1500 on September 11, 2013. Everybody at Pat McGrath makes buying a new vehicle enjoyable. The staff at McGrath's are friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. They are very helpful in asssisting you buy a vehicle. There is no pressure, like many other dealerships. I know there service department is outstanding too. We bought a new 2013 Impala in April. We have used there service department and were pleased. Pat McGrath Chevyland is like family. It was the best car buying experience we had.
