A Review of My Experience with Jacob at West Hills
A Review of My Experience with Jacob at West Hills Ford I'm writing to share my incredibly disappointing experience with Jacob, a salesman at West Hills Ford. While the dealership itself seemed nice, Jacob's unprofessionalism and aggressive tactics left a lasting negative impression, to the point where I won't be returning to West Hills Ford. From the moment I arrived, Jacob gave off the impression that he was too busy and had limited time, even stating he could only show me one truck. After a delay in finding the keys, I test drove a Ford F-150. During the test drive, I noticed several significant issues: the steering felt off, the side steps weren't functioning, and the truck was completely filthy. When we went inside to discuss a potential deal, I clearly communicated my concerns. I told Jacob that I was interested in the truck, but I wouldn't move forward with numbers until it was thoroughly cleaned and the steering and side step issues were addressed. I also stated that if these items were taken care of, I'd most likely come back to purchase the truck on Saturday or Sunday. Instead of acknowledging my reasonable requests, Jacob became incredibly pushy. He insisted on running numbers immediately, disregarding my desire to ensure the truck was in acceptable condition. He repeatedly pressured me to buy the truck on the spot, using high-pressure tactics like, "The truck will be gone by tomorrow," and "We have this many salesmen here, you don't want to take that chance." I reiterated that I was willing to take that chance and that if the truck was still available and the issues were fixed, I'd absolutely buy it this weekend. Jacob's reaction was completely unprofessional. He became visibly frustrated, displayed a complete lack of sales skills, and showed no interest in building a relationship or nurturing a potential sale over a short period. As someone who's been in sales my entire life, I was appalled by his "pitbull" approach and disrespectful attitude. He was unwilling to address legitimate customer concerns and seemed focused solely on forcing an immediate sale. The most shocking part of the experience was when I politely declined to purchase the truck that evening and explained my willingness to wait. Jacob simply walked away from the table, leaving me sitting there by myself. He didn't say goodbye, goodnight, or even offer a business card. I was completely cold-shouldered, which is utterly unacceptable for any salesperson. Due to Jacob's behavior, I will not be returning to West Hills Ford. I'll also be sharing my experience with everyone I know, warning them about what felt like a "pitbull trap" of a sales approach. It's truly unfortunate that such a nice-looking store is let down by such an unprofessional and disrespectful sales representative.
