Adam is an outstanding salesman.

Adam is an outstanding salesman. He reached out to us through out the entire process to update us or pass on information. With his experience and knowledge it was a completely smooth transaction. We would definitely buy from Frankman's and seek out Adam to purchase another automobile as well as refer any one of our family members and friends to Adam.

STOP - Read this before you buy a car on Auction from Frankman Motor Company. They hide behind the fact that they say they can't sell cars out of their county so they take their flooded, rusted vehicles to a car auction and then they shift the responsibility for the rusted vehicle onto the auctioneering company leaving you no recourse because you signed an 'As Is' agreement. The 2003 Jeep we purchased at Kool Deadwood Night auction is INOPERABLE and unsafe to drive. The frame is so rusted out it could break in two if you hit a pot hole. We have to put a whole new frame on it just to be able to drive it. This is a loop hole that Frankman Motor hides behind. Stay CLEAR!!!

Dealer response

Dear Debra, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the 2003 Jeep. However, we’d like to clarify a few important points regarding this transaction. Frankman Motor Company was not the seller of the vehicle. The Jeep was purchased at an independent auction, where we have no direct involvement in the sale. There is no purchase order, no sale documents, and no money exchanged between Frankman Motor Company and the buyer. As the court ruling clearly affirmed, we did not sell the vehicle to you. Regarding your mention of a "loophole," we want to stress that there is no loophole in this situation—this is simply how the auction process works. Vehicles sold at auction are sold “as is,” with the buyer assuming responsibility for inspecting the vehicle and understanding its condition before purchase. Auctions are independent entities, and the transaction happens between the auction and the buyer, not between Frankman Motor Company and the winner of the auction sale. We understand your frustration, but we want to emphasize that we were not the seller of the aforementioned Jeep in terms of your purchase. Best regards, Frankman Motor Company

Consumer response

Did you Frankman Motors get paid for this Jeep? Obviously you did. Hence the loop hole and we were the sorry saps to bid on your Jeep that you hauled out there to sell. The title clearly says Frankman Motors.

Transparent, fair and easy.

Transparent, fair and easy. Joe was very accommodating with test drives and answered all of my questions. We were never pressured during our visits. We have purchased two cars this year and both times the experience was great and the cars are very clean. Kudos to the detail center. Nate also was very helpful and thorough with the financing and extended warranty paperwork.

JUNK, THE TRUCK I BOUGHT WAS A MESS, ENGINE, FRONT END, TRANSMISSION ALL TRASH, I WOULD NOT EVER TRUST THEM, ALSO DO NOT TRUST ANYONE LOCAL TO CHECK OUT THE CAR BEFORE BUYING, I HIRED A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE RIPPED ME OFF AS WELL GAVE ME A REPORT FULL OF LIES. FROM MY EXPERIENCE FRANKMAN SELLS JUNK CARS THEY DON'T EVEN SEEM TO LOOK OVER.

STOP, DO NOT BUY FROM FRANKMAN AUTO BEFORE READING

STOP, DO NOT BUY FROM FRANKMAN AUTO BEFORE READING THIS: I recently purchased a used car from Kevin Frankman, owner of Frankman Auto, and I want everyone to know that I was sold a car that had multiple issues. I had seen this car advertised on Hemmings and it was a purchase for my son. I talked Kevin Frankman to discuss the car. I asked if there were any mechanical issues, any leaks, any cracks in the dashboard, etc. He replied the car was is excellent condition and the only issue was the front right bumper with some damage. I purchased the car in good faith and trust knowing I had talked to him a few times about the car and the safety requirements for my son. After receiving the car, it has multiple issues: 1. The tires were from 2005 and rotting 2. The coolant is leaking 3. Power steering is leaking 4. AC does not work 5. Back tail lights all cracked and damaged 6. Dashboard is cracked in multiple places 7. Smaller issues around tubing, gaskets, etc. These are just a few items. His response was nothing more than, this is an older car and expected to have wear and tear. All these repairs are now totalling over $7000. I was trying to be amicable and asked him to either buy back the car or fix the damages so it is safe to drive for my son. He does not want to do this. So now I want everyone to know what type of situation I find myself in and for everyone to be AWARE it could happen to you. I will continue to inform others of my experience and hope you all learn for my mistake of trusting a used car dealer.

Dealer response

Hello Sean (and Rajcan Surface - Whatever your true name is), The vehicle you are referring to was technically sold as a consignment through our Dealership. A fact that was disclosed to you prior to, and as part of the sale. It is something our dealership does for all of our clients in town and subject to our normal Consignment fee. It was known to you that no working staff agent of Frankman Motor Company had made any claims to the condition of this vehicle, it did not go through Frankman Motor Company's Inspection process which consists of 3 separate Inspections by heads of each of our Lot Management, Service, and Detail Departments. This was a car that was advertised privately - and Frankman Motor Company handled the Monetary transaction for so that the private seller and the private buyer could both be assured that they would each receive the funds and Title Paperwork that was due to each party. As with all Classic Cars (this one being almost 40 years old.) We strongly recommend and suggest 3rd party independent inspectors to verify the condition of a vehicle is up to the standards of the prospective buyer - this is true for all vehicles in our inventory that are owed and reconditioned by Frankman Motor Company - as well as what we advise to our customers who choose to purchase a vehicle from any other source in the country. Any vehicle of this age is of course ineligible for any sort of aftermarket service contract or warranty that we offer - and was sold AS-IS WHERE IS- NO WARRANTY. You knew all of these facts when we spoke to you on the phone and appreciated it as it was an overall better outcome for both seller and buyer for the security of the transaction. It is unfortunate that you are taking our your frustrations on our Dealership and staff when no one at our store had anything to do with your experience on said vehicle. Frustrations can occur with any classic car and some choose to exclude themselves from personal responsibility and choose to direct it at the first publicly available source. All aspects of Frankman Motor Company's involvement in this transaction were made known to you. We did not advertise this car, we did not inspect this car, we did not drive this car. We simply handled the paperwork and intermediary funds transaction so that both parties were safe in this sight unseen long distance classic car purchase.

Consumer response

This was TOTALLY MIS-REPRESENTED and I will continue to make sure the truth is continuously spread until there is some action from Kevin Frankman, which is your representative and the Frankman Motor company. All I asked for was reimbursement for the repairs to make it safe to drive for my son!!! That is not asking much and any honorable person would do this. Again, he TOTALLY MIS-REPRESENTED the car!
