Great service, warm staff, and quality cars
We purchased our first Subaru in Stamford but started going to Garavel for maintenance. We immediately noticed how friendly and helpful the employees are at Garavel. They make sure you're comfortable and happy. We have a 6-year-old, and Joe, our salesman, played with her for 15 minutes while he waited for us to finish up the paperwork on the day we picked up the car. Joe is **amazing** and incredibly kind. Cory gave my daughter a coloring book with crayons and helped us get coffee, water, etc. She and I talked about our families and how much she loved working there. She actually came out of retirement to work their part-time, and now she works there full-time. Tom who managed the financing was fun to work with. He is personable, professional and explains/answers any question you have. I even had a little fun negotiating some prices with him. He worked with me and we had a fun time doing it. There was NO pressure. The team there are just fantastic. Whether you're working with the new or used car experts, trust that the quality of service is consistent. We love Garavel and will always go to them.

My first purchase
Buying my new Subaru at Garavel and working with Gary Bauman was nothing but pleasant. As a new young father, I found solace in having a good experience previously with Garavel and will definitely continue to do business with this dealership!

Great experience buying a new car
Gary worked hard to get us a competitive price. He laid out all costs up front so we knew exactly what the car would cost. He was very responsive while negotiating a price and continued to respond quickly while waiting for the car to ship to the dealership. Tom was very good at explaining all of the details of the financing. As with all cars, there were a ton of documents to sign and he made sure we were comfortable with each one.

Excellent leasing experience with Gary Bauman
I had a great experience with Gary at the dealership. I contacted him with what I was looking for and he got back to me quickly, answered all of my questions and got me exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend his service and really appreciated his expertise and overall experience. Thank you again for everything Gary, I will definitely be back to lease again!

I'll never go here again (for car shopping, recuglar maintenance, or recalls). I brought my Subaru Legacy in to get some recalls taken care of & a headlight replaced. Their appointment system is easy to use and they got me processed and out the door quickly. I came back to pick it up at the end of the day and the clock had reset and my headlights were switched from auto to off. When I tried to start my car, the engine was VERY slow to turn over. After several seconds, it did start and I figured I just needed to run the car for a while to give the battery a good charge. The next day, my car wouldn't start. I'd never had these problems with my car before they serviced it. When I called in to Garavel Subaru to explain my situation, they immediately went into the blame game and said they didn't go anywhere near my battery so it couldn't be related. They said I could bring my car in and they'd look (mind you, it wouldn't start..) but they insisted it couldn't be related. They said I could have it towed, but if they found it wasn't their fault (and they had already said it wasn't their fault) I would have to pay for the tow. After arguing with the service adviser (Deigo) and the manager (Tony) they finally agreed to send someone to jump it and take it back to their dealership. They offered to change the battery there but I won't let them touch my car again and would gladly pay double to have it taken care of somewhere that takes care of their customers and does honest work. The battery did need to be replaced and I'm not suggesting they should have covered that, but it was not an issue until they serviced my car, left the lights on, killed the battery, then returned it to me barely charged and insisted any issues were just a coincidence. edit: I did appreciate the technicians they sent to my office to jump my car after they left my lights on and fried my battery! In all seriousness, they were the only kind and helpful representatives I encountered that day. They were sent after I argued with Tony for 10 minutes and let him know it was unacceptable to threaten to charge me for the tow and I insisted that he help me resolve this. He spoke down to me the entire call, which ended with me in tears. So to anyone considering having their car serviced here, don't expect this service without a fight.

Hi brittanyt, I'm glad that you were happy with the way we addressed your recall concerns quickly and at no cost to you. As you mentioned, the battery did need to be replaced. As weather gets colder later in the year, batteries need to work harder. Because your car is a 2010 Legacy, needing a new battery after that time is very common. You have not serviced with us before, so we do not know your service history but it appears your battery came with your vehicle. In fact, your battery lasted longer than most batteries would. (You can verify this online in a few places, here is a link - auto.howstuffworks.com/u… ). Many of our customers would be very happy to have a battery last that long. Because we want to take care of our customers, we did send two technicians to you to look at the battery. I'm glad we were able to accommodate your request to check the car at your house, also something you were not charged for. Garavel Subaru

My wife and I recently moved to the area. Garavel Subaru came highly recommended, and they did not disappoint. John B helped us through all all the steps and was knowledgeable and patient with our needs. I am looking forward to allowing Garavel Subaru to assist me with all my automotive needs in the future.
