The vehicle was dropped off for service and I was promised a turnaround of 4 days maximum. It ended up taking more than two weeks and communication with the assigned service technician was very poor.

Bad service
Bad service. I bought a car from them last week and they don't know when they'll deliver it to me because they haven't finished fixing it yet.

Worst experience — third and last Subaru
I have had the worst experience that I have ever experienced from a dealership. I have owned three Subarus, starting in the 1980’s, which I have driven for about 500,000 miles. After trying to get service at Gilman Subaru North, this is my last Subaru. I took the car in for an electrical problem — one window didn’t work, the dash lights came on randomly, etc. After an almost $900 bill, three windows don’t work, I have no heat or air conditioning, the headlights both blew, and the “no eyesight” warning light still comes on at intervals. The response of Gilman — “be sure to clean the car thoroughly before you bring it back.”

Don’t buy a used car from them!
My daughter and I were looking to purchase her first vehicle. We found one online and went to go see it. Took it for a test drive and it was fine. Bought the vehicle and drove it home. We were home for 2 hours when my daughter tells me the check engine light was on. So the next morning I called to let them know that I was bringing it in. As I’m driving there, the car breaks down. They had to send a tow truck for it. The transmission is bad on the car so I tell them I don’t want it. They tell me they will “work” with me on another car. We find another car and their “deal” was 500 off that car. Mind you, they had just up-sold me on this car as it is 4k more expensive. I get that vehicle home and 2 days later, I can’t start the car. I have to take it back for a new battery. At least it’s not the transmission, right?! Fast forward 2 months and the car starts making a rattling in the engine one morning. I had purchased an extended warranty on the vehicle and was going to head to Gillman Subaru North to have them take a look at it when the engine completely dies on me. I had to tow it to the closest auto mechanic. He looks up the VIN number and finds out that the car was sold to me with several recalls. I’m so upset at this point, I call Gillman North. The guy takes my name and number down and says he will call me back and he never does. I tried to go through the car manufacturer regarding the engine, but the recalls had expired so they would not fix the engine. I tried calling Gillman again a week later, they took down my name and number again, and again did not call me back. So the mechanic suggested I tow the car to a dealership from my car’s manufacturer and have them take care of the engine. So I did. I received an estimate of 7k for a new engine. Thank the lord that I purchased the extended warranty. From the time the car broke down until I was able to get the new engine installed was 1.5 months. I’m still waiting on my call from Gillman. Sorry for the long and aggravating story but, Gillman Subaru North probably just puts used vehicles up for sale without first making sure they’re sellable. Don’t buy a used car from them! I was thinking about buying myself a new Subaru but now they have even tainted that for me.

Great Experience
They had the best in stock collection of vehicles in the area. Got exactly what I was looking for, thanks to their web site. Would have been in and out sooner except dealer prep took longer than expected.

NEW CAR PURCHASE
I had the misfortune of being in a bad accident and needed to replace my Subaru Forester. Angelique at Team Gillman North was eager to help me and find me the replacement I wanted and in the color I wanted. She was great at keeping me updated on the arrival of the vehicle and getting the safety features I wanted. I loved the end result including the little details like my pet lover license plate holder and pet protector panels for the back door (even nicer in person)! For anyone debating on the Cascade Silica Green in real life - I LOVE IT!!!! Super rich and luxurious color.
