The process was quick, easy and painless. Edio, my motoring advisor, was the BEST. This dealership has never done me wrong.

Bought a JCW roadster and within 3 days the transmission
Bought a JCW roadster and within 3 days the transmission light was on. Brought it back and was told they’d fix it at no charge, so far so good. This is my 3rd mini. They gave me a loaner free. That earns them a star however, the report I got back states they found out my car with only 13K miles on the odometer has a junkyard transmission. They redid the wiring harness & changed the transmission fluid. Drove it 10 miles & gave it back. Their finance guy can’t be bothered to contact me with any of the paperwork I signed. Contacting the dealer by phone got me nowhere. I had to drive back up there to get the first copy of the financials, still haven’t received the second. I’ll take it to my BMW mechanic, who will talk to me & will reveal all the other issues this almost new JCW has. Brakes for sure, not just new pads but a brake bleed. These guys assume cars are a mystery to everyone, thankfully I know mechanics who can do the work & in less than 40 days, that’s how long mini Gaithersberg had my car.

Should have gone with my gut instinct!
Should have gone with my gut instinct!! Buyers beware if you are purchasing a used non MINI vehicle from here. I purchased a very nice looking 2017 Audi Q7. Salesman and Finance were pretty nice but the SUV was misrepresented. Unfortunately, I couldn't get an appointment with Audi soon after purchasing the Q7 to get it looked over, but once I did, I was informed that I had over $2K worth of suspension repairs as well as a failing waterpump system (another $1K+ repair) where you are able to see dried residual coolant all over the front engine bay. That I know of, there is no 30 day or similar policy to return the vehicle so you are stuck with your purchase. Though this vehicle was MD inspected, it did not coincide with the actual results after verifying with Audi. I will not mention who MINI utilized for the inspection but I would recommend either having your own mechanic inspect your used vehicles or getting it inspected ASAP to know exactly what you are getting into.

Stephane, we are very sorry to hear about any mechanical issues that arose after your vehicle purchase. While the vehicle was with us, it passed all Maryland State Inspection requirements. Had the vehicle required those stated repairs while under our possession, we would have completed them. If you have any additional questions regarding this, please call our store and ask for our Sales Manager, Giles.
Mini can only be serviced at a Mini dealer.
Mini can only be serviced at a Mini dealer. Cost of service much higher than other service stations. I regret buying a Mini and don’t recommend it. My mini (2013) has less than 30,000 miles. has had many service issues. The latest is the AC. Less tan 400 miles ago, I brought it in for repair. The reason for the lack of AC hadn’t been found, but cost over $173 for the diagnosis. I brought my 1924 Subaru in for lack of AC to a local service station a week after bringing the Mini in for AC repair. For the same dye diagnosis the charge was $114. My Mini is again at the dealership, less than 400 miles since the AC diagnosis, because the A C isn’t working. Will never purchase a Mini again!!

We purchased a Honda CR-V that had been traded into the dealership on a new MINI purchase. I had a search loaded in Cars.com and recognized the dealer name (purchased a car with them before) and reached out via the cars.com app. I had a response within a few hours and an opportunity to drive the car within a day. The purchase process was respectful and quick and I left with a good deal on the car. Our salesman also had quite extensive knowledge of the vehicle because he had previously worked at a Honda dealership. The car was partially warranted (50% of repairs within 30 days) which made me more comfortable purchasing a car not represented by the dealership. And when I took it to the Honda dealership, turns out it was in tip-top shape and dealer-maintained at factory-required intervals. Overall, a good car and a good purchasing experience. Would definitely do this again.

How to break up from a dealer who doesn't care?
Don't give them your real email address. Despite repetitively asking them to remove it from frequent mailings they don't care. Not to mention all the letters, post cards and other garbage we get through the post office. I am not sure that harassing previous customers is the ideal way to get repeat business. I am sure this review get some "we are sorry that... blah blah blah" response. But that will be too late. For 3 years I have asked nicely and even begged them to stop. Apparently they don't care. They have the email and home address and no matter how many times I opt out , email and ask to be removed or contact them about this THEY JUST KEEP SENDING ME MORE SPAM. PLEASE STOP!!! The sales process was ok. Other than they wanted me to buy a $15,000 extended warranty on a $25,000 car. The guy who ho pitched it too me didn't understand why I I burst out into laughter when he said it. Apparently this is to pay for the desk with the fancy built in touch display. Though it crashed on him and he ended up having to print off all the paper work. When I got home and showed the car to my wife and kids the wheel well was full of water. I called the dealership up about it and the salesman blamed me? Not even an I'm sorry. I called the customer service at Mjni (the manufacturer not the dealership) and they said there is a plug on the well that must have been slightly opened when the car was washed and water came into the well. In retrospect I regret buying from them, would no it again and would IMPLORE anyone else thinking about buying from them to look elsewhere. This has nothing to do with the brand or the car itself. Just the dealer. If you don't mind a company that after the sale will just spam the heck out of you, then MINI of Montgomery County is the place to shop. Otherwise there are better options. MUCH MUCH BETTER.

I don't know what it is with these Maryland dealers but seems that trying to take advantage of, and burn serious cash buyers, is their forte'. Tried to purchase a virtually new Honda Fit from these clowns and they attempted to pile on almost $2500 in BS dealer fees...a few of which had some incredibly fascinating names. Rather put a bullet thru my head than deal with these bozos.

John, we apologize for your recent experience and have investigated this matter further by looking into our records of your email communication with our team. We see the Honda Fit you inquired about is listed at $22,995, and the original MSRP is $28,330. While we appreciate you considering MINI of Montgomery County for your purchase, it appears you are also shopping elsewhere and perhaps you may have posted this for the wrong dealership. We are sorry to hear of the negative experience you had, but see this pricing issue could not have been with us. Thanks for sharing
That's a reasonably slick attempt at deflection on your part. Reminds me of when I was 5 years old and responded to imminent parental discipline with "It wasn't me Mom...it was Joey." You're wrong on both fronts. My review was precisely aimed at YOUR dealership...and the original list price of your 2020 Honda Fit sport that I was attempting to buy was NOT $28,330. Some genuinely creative math on your part. The MSRP as delivered was $22,155. So let me clearly and succinctly state my reasoning for the utter contempt of your dealership one more time: THE ADDED ON BS FEES! Got that? $600 in "doc" fees and $900 in "because we exist" fees is the reason I'd never buy anything from your outfit.
JOY Riding!
Brian Keener is amazing! I had the best car buying experience EVER at MINI of Montgomery County! Brian was personable, informative and a complete JOY to be around. I test drove a Mini CooperS convertible and was SOLD! Jeremiah Jones handled our financing and I walked away feeling like I spent a few hours with old friends! I've wanted a MINI Cooper for a while and after a year of living through a worldwide pandemic it was time to have some fun! If you are in the market for a MINI the team in Gaithersburg will take good care of you!!

Not for women — mechanics have a rep of taking advantage of women because of the perception they ought not be as comfortable with cars. This dealership tried to convince my girlfriend she needed a bogus $800 engine fix because it was “falling out.” Other mechanics said she was being scammed. She also needed another unrelated part fixed. They ordered the wrong part and charged her a restocking fee to return.

We are sorry to hear you believe our team treated your girlfriend differently due to her gender, as we do not discriminate in any way. We diagnosed the vehicle for free, as a gesture of goodwill, although we usually charge a diagnosis fee. We believe there may have been some misunderstanding of our diagnosis, as our team had explained the issue with the vehicle was due to the engine mount and advised the correct repairs, and never stated the engine was "falling out" of the car. We also explained when you ordered the part that there was a 10-day return policy, but waived that policy, also out of courtesy, when you returned it 30 days later. Your girlfriend was informed of the restocking fee up front and apologize if you deem this unacceptable, as we tried to go out of our way to help her multiple times. We appreciate your feedback and wish you and your girlfriend well in your hunt for a new service center that will fit your needs.
